After last week's Ubisoft sale you may have thought we'll give you a break from deals you cannot pass. If so, then you were wrong :) This weekend we're offering you the whole Age of Wonders trilogy with a stunning 50% discount, so you can enjoy all three parts of this award winning strategy series for only $12.97. If you already own some Age of Wonders titles on GOG, you can complete the series with a 50% discount. But if you're interested in buying only one or two parts of the series you'll still get 30% off. Promo ends on Monday, November 29 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

pinkj: PLEASE STOP! I HAVE TOO MANY GAMES AND NOT ENOUGH TIME!

Zabinatrix: It seems like pretty much every person here (including me) has the same problem - we buy way more games than we have time to play and have huge backlogs.

I see a different problem too, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one experiencing it. I've been continually buying more games than are released each week. Most weeks there is just one release - sometimes I'll get that one, and it's very likely that I'll get at least a couple of games at each weekend promo. So I'd say that I'm averaging buying at least twice as many games as GOG are releasing, at least over the last few months (didn't buy many games before that, due to lack of money).

If I continue like this I will eventually buy the whole catalogue... And I will probably only ever play a relatively small fraction of the games. Oh well, there are worse things I could spend my money on :) And I really am a sucker for the extras we get with most games. Even if I don't have time to play all the games I buy I usually think it's worth it just for the artwork, soundtracks, et cetera.
Same here, I just bought Settler V last week more for the soundtrack than the game itself. Then this week I just bought this AoW set. I have 18 games in GOG already but haven't finished one of it. I am playing Knight and Merchants now (stuck in campign 4, playing over 10+ hours already...)...not there is expansion come with it By the time I finish it....it may well be middle of next year and by that time don't know how many games I will have bought from GOG...

I am glad that I am only keen to strategy and city / management simulation game. (RPG game I prefer Japanese style...) so that make me exclude from some of the GOG releases.

Truck: Also, you forgot Fishslapping Tuesday, Monster Truck Sunday Sunday Sunday, Okra's Dance of the Moon, and King Wednesday. These are important made up holidays too!
avatar
T.A.P.: You'd best not be dissing Monster Truck Sunday, boy. :o
Son, did you look closely at my name? Would you care to explain how you thought someone COULD diss Monster Truck Sunday? As far as made up holidays to have a special for, there are FEW which come close to the importance, grandeur, or plain blood-curdling ACTION action action of MONNNSTERR TRUCK SUNDAY sunday sunday!

(Yes, 1nsane is on my wishlist. I will get it eventually, for this reason - Monster Truck Sunday.)

Oh, perhaps you meant Teknomedic, and his suggestion that something as weak as 'cypherman day' or whatever that was was even worth a sales event! No, we hold out for the important date - Monster Truck Sunday sunday sunday!

In fact, I suggest everyone buy this pack in celebration of Monster Truck Sunday sunday sunday!
OK, since you made it so easy, I'll grab AOW2 and complete my collection . . . =)

tejozaszaszas: It´s strange, but if i must choose between music and manuals, prefer manuals, even without unsderstanding why i have to choose.
avatar
costanet: I bought them now for this is a promo difficult to miss (one of the best promos ), but I think it is very strange that games of this kind are sold without manuals, no matter how it is easy to find then on the internet. I want the manuals here , and I want them now....:-) The soundtrack is certainly a very good bonus and we all thanks gog com, but the manuals are an essential part of game experience.
Look, We´ve been talking about this so many time that i think GOG would put the manual on the web if they could, only to shut up our mouth.
I think there must be a hidden reason for this, maybe related with publisher´s rights. Problably they don´t have rights for the english version of the manual (AOW was made on Holland, and maybe the manual was published originally in dutch, don´t know ).

tejozaszaszas: Yo need to steal to get 13 bucks? i think in Norway that costs a hamburger.
avatar
Zchinque: That's some cheap-ass burger...
Yeah, exactly. I was going to ask them where they found such an inexpensive place to eat up here :)
Good things come to those who wait. :)
If I was gonna pick up one of these, which would be the one to get?

I heard that Shadow magic is the "fan favorite" but I'm not really familiar with the series.
Thinking about getting Shadow Magic. Anybody got a link to a manual? Doesn't strike me as the type of game that would be easy to pick up without it.

On the "Big Mac index " of July Norway appears with a 7.20, so add cola and chips and that´s it.

Ash360: Ws GOG listening or is it just a coincidence?
Either way yay for smaller bundles.
Yay for small bundles, yay for large bundles, yay for thematic packs, yay for publisher catalog discounts.

There is no manual on the internet yet, only the appendix.
I am totally getting this for $12.97.

That's a damn fine $4.33 per game, plus the soundtracks of the three games. :)

The manual for the second game is available online however. I suspect it would have enough info to get you started, as they're similar enough. There are also FAQ files.

Hear hear!
I love a good burger. And I don't eat at McDonalds.
