teknomedic: I'm not saying it's not a good deal, because it is.
And yes I know that not the whole world has the "Black Friday" after thanksgiving stuff that the US has.
BUT... if you're going to run a gaming website AND you're going to appeal to large world wide markets... perhaps you should try to offer deals on certain holidays for those regions.
Certainly don't need to run a deal on every "made up" holiday as someone put it... but when you know a large market is suddenly going to be shopping for deals and that many of those people will be on the internet shopping as well. It only makes some business sense to try and appeal to that market.
I'm a little confused as to why anyone would complain about someone suggesting that we have MORE sales and CHEAPER prices though. You could only win if they had offered some "Black Friday" or "Cyber-Monday" deals... yes?
I know you've not been here for long, so you couldn't know, but there was no promo for either of these days last year (or in 2008, but that would have been too early for the site anyway). Also, they don't run regional promos (for example, only for U.S. residents); if there is a sale, it's for everyone.
Anyway, we wouldn't protest if GOG suddenly announced they'll have a Cyber Monday deal, but I don't really feel the need for it (and I'm sure many GOGers agree with me).
Oh, and although they had no BFriday/CMonday deal last year, they DID have a very large Christmas sale: almost every game (only the most recently released ones not) was sold with 25-40% off. There's no telling whether they'll do something of the like this year, but it's not unimaginable.
