I find that once again I'm able to purchase a "Gold" edition where I already own the game plus all the Gold edition material separately.

Again I say it's not good enough that we simply get a tiny warning that we wont get another copy of the game when entering our credit card details, it either needs to show as "owned" or show as a "gift" at checkout. I'm old, that tiny writing is hard to read on a 15inch laptop.

The last time we had payment issues because of a poor purchasing system I had to spend hours matching games with purchases and ended been refunded hundreds of dollars, I'm nervous about been burnt again.

What does that message mean anyway? Will *something* new show up on my shelf if I make this purchase? Or is my money gone and nothing happened?

The second.

Grargar: The second.
Wow, that's just insane, I thought at least a bundled installer for the full package would show up or something. Thanks for the reply.

That's what we have been requesting for Sword of the Stars: The Pit for a while now, but no; we don't even get a bundled installer for the Gold Edition. :/
I'm also shocked about the 85 notifications and the 84$ price O_o

Yeah, I heard about that. But I thought that in case of Omerta there was an actual Gold Edition installer which you got if you bought this particular product. Apparently not.

No, it's just the base game installer plus the DLC, but if you have bought them separately, it doesn't flag the Gold Edition as owned. Same case, presumably, with other games in similar position (such as Risen 2 and Wasteland 2).

I only used Essentials a little, can't remember why I removed it but will take your suggestion and give it a go.

That said, it would be nice to see GoG address this issue, if a small script packet made by dedicated fans can enhance peoples purchasing experience so much then surely GoG could equal it.

Basically a person pays for the game but gets nothing in return.

In some cases a person may receive a second copy in their Library - I have 2 copies of The Witcher 2.

Game update notifications, no relation to the price :)
