Heh, did a HC group run in Act I Hell just now and watched some monk die.

Almost felt like I was watching someone die IRL. I went "Oh no fuck, he's gonna die, he's gonna die, HE'S GONNA DIIIEEEEE"

No, but after the death he was dead silent in chat for over two minutes, then just left.

I think something might have gotten rage broken in that timespan.

My HC Witch Doctor is 57 now. So close .... progressing through Hell. Very tentatively.

I'm only have a pathetic 13000 dps unbuffed at Inferno Act 2, Butcher was doable solo with my Magic Weapon buff at 17000 dps. Gonna try buy a 700-800 dps 1h Wand to replace my exisiting 579 dps Wand. Farming like mad now in Hell Pony, Inferno Butcher runs both solo and with 3 of my friends and gold running with 200+% Gold Find in Act 3 Nigmare (about 120-140k gold an hour). No good drops so far except for a pair of boots(100+ dex, 70+intel and vit, 12% movement speed and Gold Find).

Your whole thing here is just so beyond not amusing in the slightest.

I guess Hex and Blood Ritual didn't cut it? Thinking it over, maybe it wasn't the best advice considering the 15% mana cost from HP. Were you 58 still?

Damn act 3 is a chore. I got up to the supposedly awesome Tyrael farming point yesterday, only to find him hitting for ~1k instead of the 45k shown in the videos and talked about on the forums, and instead of blocking stuff missiles just went through him like he was Neo or something. Looked it up and he'd been hotfixed to be weak as shit an HOUR before I got there fml.

I really need some luck with drops, upgrades cost millions now and I need some in order to progress without a million deaths everywhere I go.

Meh, I would probably have died earlier if it weren't for Blood Ritual at least.

I did the mistake of grouping while HC thinking it'd be safe (it always had been up until that point). We were in one of the pre-Kulle dungeons when we ran into double packs and a load of normal skellies and constructs. Shit hit the fan and I couldn't make my way out back through the only tiny fucking doorway leading to safety before I was dead.

59 1/2 too.

I would have needed more HP, and was gonna "get around to it" at 60. I "only" had about 33k HP, the two others in the group had over 50k and presumably survived. I would have too had I had a larger HP pool.

The bad news is I lost my HC WD with fairly good gear, the good news is I didn't spend much gold on AH before 60 (my 550 base DPS weapon cost 10k), so I have about 600k gold to start over a new char with. Should make gearing up easier.

What bugs me though is I wouldn't have died if I'd play solo because I wouldn't have been stupid enough to rush in, see a pack, run in the opposite direction of safety, and pull another pack like that fucking barb in my group.

Yep, even Act 3 (hell) is really tough. My level 60 Monk with 36K hitpoints and 12.5 K dps is still getting mugged. I cannot even imagine Inferno. Hopefully with the upcoming 1.03 patch they make the game a bit more survivable.

Edit: Oh boy, I have 4 friend invites! Turns out their just fucking gold farmers trying to sell me fake gold. I'm glad nothing changes with this company and it's questionable site security. Same with World of Warcraft, and now with Diablo III.

They probably just searched your name via the client using a script to generate battletags and randomly add people.

Now I'm not saying blizzard's security doesn't have loopholes - I personally don't think they do a very good job on this - but I've played WoW for 8? years (quit sometime in the first teir of cataclysm), and I've never got hacked once, and I've only gotten an authenticator halfway through wrath of the lich king (somewhere at ulduar, I think), meaning I've technically been "hackable" from vanilla all the way till ulduar. I did eventually get an authenticator partly because I don't entirely trust blizzard, and partly because I suspect someday I'd screw up somewhere and accidentally click something I shouldn't, and its never a nice feeling when you're hacked.

So here is my current farming pattern:
Start game on Act I Quest 9.2
Go clear Crypts for Nephelem stacks
Go kill Warden + Butcher
If I can be bothered, farm Fields of Misery for rare mobs.

Did a test in my previous run. It took me 14min to clear Crypts and end up with 4 Nephelem stacks. Took about 25min after that to kill Warden + Butcher. Didn't bother with Fields.
Ended up with 50k cash + exactly 2 inv fulls of blues + rares.
Put a couple of things on AH cheap - made about 60k off of those too.

Overall it took me ~40min, during which I killed 10+ packs of rares and Warden + Butcher with 5 stacks. One event as well (Jar of Souls).

Feel like it's taking slightly too long. Would like to get it down to about 30min per run.

Any tips, commentary? How do you guys farm?

edit: oh and also got my 4th turd er I mean Legendary yesterday - Goldskin. Trash.
Thus far 3/4 have been rubbish. One netted me a million though.

Hey forgot to ask earlier - what did you use for AoE?
The vast majority seem to go for Acid Rain, but I'm a huge supporter of Phantasm.

Firebomb. That's just too good with the bounce glyph on it. Doesn't even cost mana.

Leveling a new HC now. Barbarian. Raiding AH every 10 levels or so to get new gear, focusing on good weapons. It's really fast to level when you outgear content like this, I'm already up to 31 and starting NM. Might even be able to clear NM tonight.

So, leveling in Diablo 3 really is a joke then. You can have any HC char in Hell within 10 hours I bet, if you rush and have gear lined up for the journey.
