StingingVelvet: When 90% of the game is a one-handed click-fest it's kind of blah to suddenly need a hand on the keyboard in the right spot.

Like I said though, it could be rooted in me thinking a gamepad works best for these types of games.
I usually am accustomed to keeping my left hand near the keyboard while playing to hit hotkeys for items/etc(I dunno why but I don't like massively buttoned mice for doing everything.), so I guess it's easier for me.

I understand the argument but if you're playing this game 90% with the mouse then you're playing it wrong or you have a tricked out mouse with 4 more buttons on it :)

I've got 4 skills on 1-4 I'm using all the time, in addition to the mouse :)

Both Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 are not one-handed clickfests, even though the former can be played as such.
Diablo 3 differs from D2 in the sense that it forces the player to use both hands already early on in the game. Also, I feel like I am using the left button a lot less than I was in D2 - you simply don't need to click as much. Your left hand is a lot more involved.
Furthermore, you can assign any skill - including the basic attack - to any button. So if you want to play it in a more 'consoly' way then you can put your primary attack on, say, 1 (though you will still have the aforementioned left-click 'issue').

this.

in Diablo 2 you needed the number keys for potions and scrolls. in Diablo 3 you need them for skills, unless you're comfortable with mouse buttons 3-8 (or whatever number of buttons your mouse has).

FraterPerdurabo: ...
Nope, one week and two days have passed and the game still isn't here. Oh, and I duuno when I actually will be able to play since I have an exam week starting on Monday. Will message you once I have the game and add you.
So what's the level max?

How about the length? People seem to be getting through it rather quickly.

60, as far as I know.

It really depends on your play style. I am at level 13 right now, and haven't even completed the first Act (though I've done the Starter edition content 4-5 times already! :)).

Forgot to mention, I've put around 15 hours into my only character.

Max level really means very little, it's the gear that limits you/allows you to go further.

Yeah, 60 is the max. There are four difficulties: Normal, Nightmare, Hell and Inferno.
I finished Normal at 30.
Nightmare at 50.
Hell at 60 (hit 60 with final boss of Act 3).
Inferno is the progression difficulty. You gear up in Hell and you attempt Inferno. I find it too hard alone right now (haven't got enough gear yet), but just finished Skeleton King in a random public group. It definitely gets a lot harder though.

I've got up to the Butcher on Inferno solo and am finally stuck. I would be able to kill him solo given the time, but Blizzard also saw fit to put a timer mechanic in as well. After a certain period of time it becomes impossible to dodge the fire on the floor. > < I can get him to under 1/4 health before this happens. I guess i'll have to try a public random or wait for some friends to catch up.
Shit game. Wasted $80.
In Diablo 2 you used to be able to farm uniques or other upgrades for yourself by yourself. In Diablo 3 you farm the AH.

hmm, it is an improvement, isn't it. Before you had to hope the right item you could use drop, wasting hours grinding for something you may or may not need. Now at least the time spent results in something as you can actually use to gold you get when grinding anyway to upgrade yourself. Much better.

If simple is better why not just put the whole game on rails and make it so that 1 button press completes each level/area, and you can finish the game in 10 minutes? :\

You still have to grind for the gold, the game is not on rail or simple. The difference is that after 3 hours of grinding you may not have got the item you wanted to drop, but you might have enough gold to buy it from AH.

What is the difference in grinding 3 hours for an item which you may or may not get, and grinding 3 hours grinding getting enough gold and buying it on the AH?
