klaymen: I doubt anyone would be THAT stupid to shell out 200 bucks for something like this. And if yes, I could use some financial help. :)
Stuff is D2 went for ridiculous amounts. I think someone forked out $500 for a Windforce pretty early on and some bugged / rares have also fetched hundreds.

If there's one thing I've learned in 29 years of life, it's that yes, some people ARE that stupid :-)

Oh yes, sometimes lurking the AH pays off. Just bought a weapon for my wizard that gives me almost 11k more HP and +3600 DPS. Now I can finally put Inferno Act I on farm and progress to Act II a little.
I have about 60 hours with level 36 wizard in Nightmare Act I and I'm really bored... I've encountered (almost) every possible encounter or event during Normal so the story and stuff around has nothing to offer me anymore...

but Diablo was never about such things, it was always about loot - and that sucks deadly here. yeah, sure, I'm in Nightmare and items get better later, you might say, but from what I've seen in AH (the most expensive items) or in general chat from people selling level 60 items, they are just one like the other, you only look at the damage/intelligence/resistance stats, one has +150, the other has +120, ... boring!

so, nothing really interesting for me anymore... at least the game is quite addictive (don't know why, probably the diablo feel/lore and nostalgia) and rather difficult - at least for me - so I might even finish the Nightmare...

after that I'll stop... ok, 60+ hours is wonderful for any game, but this should have been (and COULD have been) so much better game... :(

Ahhhhhhh....windforce. Never found one, and I did pindle runs until my eyes bled.

But then again a javazon with titan's revenge was heaps of fun and that was much easier to find.

I've managed to get some real bargains as well, but to be honest, AH prices are retarded.
I've started browsing forums a lot more and the prices there make a lot more sense, i.e. 2mil for something that would go for 8mil in AH.

Is that the blizzard trade forums? I generally avoid blizzard's forums since, from WoW experience, they're a cesspool, but if good deals can be found there I'll take a look.

The same! Just saw a really awesome amulet going for 350k, would definitely have bought it. Scanned the AH earlier for similar stats and far worse ones were being priced 2mil+.

The Trading forums are refreshingly free of bullshit so no worries.
Terror Demons + Corrupted Angels + teleport + extra health + shielding = not fun. :(
Fighting Diablo on Nightmare right now. Suddenly I am reminded why I don't play aRPGs and why D2 was such a torture.

Basically, there's one viable stat, which is, MORE HEALTH. My 4000 DPS glass-like Demon Huntress doesn't stand a chance, no matter the huge amount of armor she has, which is useless in these games.

So I have to scrap all my items and focus on health, farm items, or farm gold for the AH to buy some better items. I still have some level 2x items, because I haven't found better ones, even though I am level 51. -_-

I was planning on taking a break after finishing Nightmare, but I guess I will cut down from many hours playing it, to just a few per day.

I guess I'll focus on clearing up some events that I still haven't found, thus gaining more money in the process, to buy items with more Vitality.

EDIT: I get two shot-ed by Diablo, (4 if you count the health potion). All is fine, but once I run out of Discipline, I cannot evade attacks and die.

Armor (and resists) matters in inferno, since having 40K health and like 2K armor is a recipe for death there. But you're only in nightmare so it probably doesn't matter as much as health.

If you're dying because of diablo's teleport+ melee, keep him at the edge of your screen. He won't teleport if you do that, iirc, unless you going to those 2 areas with holes and snipe it from the opposite end. I can't give DH specific strats cos I don't have a DH that high.

Just spend half an hour on AH and try to find two decent items with high VIT and a socket to stack even more VIT. Make these two items replace your two current poorest items if possible. Then you can keep most of your current DPS and gain bags of health to survive.

You're at the end of NM now, in order to survive Hell you'll need 30k HP pretty fast, and preferably 200+ fire resistance. You can't skip on VIT to build insane damage cannons, or the first mortar pack you find is going to rape you good.
I'm not convinced that you're doing this right - the idea is that you're not supposed to be getting hit as a DH. Honestly, even if you sacrifice enough dmg so that you can survive 3 hits, the fight mechanics will not change.
I struggled with Diablo a lot on normal because my DPS was too poor. NM and onward I focused on dmg and took him down on my first attempt.
Honestly, you don't need health or res until Inferno, especially on boss fights.

Try changing your skill set perhaps?
Just won a last-minute bid was against someone (probably a mortal enemy).
Adrenaline is flowing!
Got a nice OH upgrade for 150k.

Elenarie:
I was undergeared on Diablo nightmare too, and struggled a bit. Easiest way I found was to use hungering arrow+piercing, and impale with stun rune. Hungering arrow has insane range and staying as far as possible from Diablo is best when you're undergeared, but the hardest part of the fight is your shadow in phase 2. For that bit, I chained together smoke screens and found the occasional stun from impale to help a lot.

As for active abilities (I think) I used mostly what I use now, smoke screen/prep/bat for hatred most of the time. I usually use caltrops as well but I think I probably switched it for vault for Diablo, probably with the disc reduction + cd rune if you have it at that level.
