I managed to kill him on my first attempt in Hell with my Witch Doctor who is also very squishy, but has a lot of control. I'm not sure how much control Wizard has? In p2 I gather them up in the middle with some survival CDs, then run off to the side and AoE away. It's p3 that's the real bitch, imo.
Remember than in p2 Belial himself can be CC'd, so if you have such abilities, use them liberally (i.e. Hex works on him).
Anyway, I like it how they made the boss fights in D3 more like in WoW. In D2 they were simply gear, level and spec checks. In D3 you actually have to not be shitfisted to be able to defeat bosses.
His green fire thing can be considered fire :D
I turned my mage into a melee machine in P2 on nightmare while spamming Blizzard around me. Not sure if I can actually do that now in Hell. P3's on luck and whether my 2 defensive abilities can hold out.

Well as long they don't make fights like C'thun, Twin Emps or 4 Horsemen in the original vanilla WoW level 60 Naxx I guess I'm fine.
Haha, if people can down Inferno bosses in seconds, it's still all about outgearing
