SirEyeball: We can do a head bangers bump in stead of a head bangers ball (thats a blast from the past ;))

I just remember the MTV one. I was /am in to heavy metal (favourite album is Sepulturas Roots and being a RPG fan I still love Man'o'War) but my taste has broadened as well.

Yeah, i doubt you'd have gotten noisy mothers over there - but i was a different calibre of show and always had summat new and different on it as it wasnt "sponsored" by the labels like headbangers ball. ironically most of the bands I watched on it and enjoyed ive since met / worked with (mostly through my venue or music journalism work of many moons ago).

anyways...

Funny you mention Seps - my bump post was nearly "troops of doom!" - which i was once hired to perform with a college cover band (being the only person capable of the cavalera stlye growl!).

im getting all nostalgic now!

I was part of Roc soc when I studied History at Bangor uni back in 96 (Didn't have a telly must be why I missed em) and have done some epic concerts as the sound manager. (we where a couple of guys there who actually played our selves) I later became a pub musician alongside my teacher job (also involving music). these days my back is out and so is my ability to play guitar and bass ( can still hammer the piano) so music for me has a bitter sweet feel ATM. (I hope I can retrain enough to pick up a spade now and again;))

Have you tried an upright? - worked for my mate and he had some severe problem going on with segments of his spinal column (far worse than a slipped disc as i have that) - might be worth a look!

problem is for the moment that my right arm looses all feeling or sleeps sometimes. on top of that it starts shaking if I lift it to high or hold something small. I also have slipped discs but 6 of them (3 in my lower back 2 between my shoulder blades an 1 in my neck.) and they are inoperable because they cover the whole back (operate on one and the rest of the back gets weaker.) I am training an exercising so I hope to get some feeling back or at least be able to recognize the feelings there so I can use the hand better. I have not given up hope but thank god for video games and films otherwise I'd go bonkers Rofl.

SirEyeball:
in your case (presuming your bone structure itself is good) i could suggest some tai chi and win chun excercies - a good friend is a qualified teacher and recently overcame a serious neck / collarbone injury as a result in a mere two weeks whislt fighting a serious dose of flu. pbviously he's in very good condition to begin with, but nontheless, it might be worth a look- if nothing else itd be summat cool to do.
I'll ask his opinioon if you want?

otherwise i get entirely what you man about games etc - i also find audiodramas (horror / sci-fi ones) to be worthwhile too. got some suggestiosn fo good free series there too if you want? - i find em particularly good for night when sleep is difficult due to pain / discomfort

Yah id like that (about the series) when we study to become teachers in DK we choose several subjects (when I studied it was 4 now its 2) and one of the subject apart from music I choose was PE there we had an exelent teacher in Tai Chi and I picked up a little there. Now I try (at the days where I have enough energy) to incorporate that and yoga in to my daily (read when I can) workout so no need to bother your friend about that ;) I will try and get some sleep now and see if the painkillers can do their work. If you have some links for the audio books/dramas could you please pm them to me (I don't feel right hogging your giveaway thread with my ailments lol). Good night and best of health to you too I hope something can be done for you (iE a operation as working it better rarely works)
