Eh, that would not hinder me to watch it as a fan as much as the alterations made to the lore which completely drained my interest.

Also, how could GOG.com not mention John Hurt for Privateer 2: The Darkening?! He's right there in the trailer still image below the text! He was the only actor shown on the (back of) the box!
Actually, I looked it up on MobyGames to refresh my memory and it turns out, this was only on the German version (probably because he's better known than the others here), the original USofA release had no actors shown and other versions had Christopher Walken in his place. Funneh.
I see the article wisely ignored mentioning Chris Roberts spiritual successor to Wing Commander, Star Citizen. I wonder if it will ever be finished.
Wing Commander IV has always been one of my favourite gaming experiences of all time. I yearn for the day when it could be remastered and I think it's a tragedy that many people haven't played it or have forgotten all about it. I can still recite so many lines from that last mission - the price of freedom is eternal vigilance!
Wing Commander was one of the first games I purchased on GOG, and one that I never played before. It was a blast! Ah, I'll just grab a joystick and replay it again.
I never got warm with the series tbh. I always felt the controls were atrocious. Like flying a wardrobe.

Breja: On YouTube (at least for now). It even stars Mark Hamill and Malcolm McDowell reprising their roles from the game.
Unfortunately, it appears the videos have already been blocked by the owners of the animated series. (NBC Universal I think , not 100% sure, I forgot lol)

Oh well, I got the Youtube page book marked for now.

GOG.com: ...Ginger Lynn Allen (her movies are not very... mainstream)
That´s such a nice way of putting it :D

Not to mention one of the best ending sequences in any game!

You might be interested in this, it's not an official remaster but it could be good: https://wcrespace.com/

Did you play using a joystick? Because that's how the game is supposed to be played.

Yes, of course :-)

No comparison to the "gliding through space" that X-Wing or even earlier Epic (had this on Amiga) offered.

Ha, I always found X-Wing more difficult to fly :D I guess to each his own.

:( I kinda liked it, even went to see it in the cinema. No it wasn't as good as, say, Starship Troopers and such, but I still enjoyed it.

Maybe I'll need to re-watch to see if it nowadays makes me cringe. Then again, lots of movies do that to me, like all newer Star Wars movies, or superhero movies. Heck, I just saw Wonder Woman and considering all the good things I had heard about it, I was surprised how... mediocre and cliched it was. Its attempts to raise strong feelings in the viewer were just so predictable and lame (and this seems to go to almost all superhero movies I've seen like in the last 15 years, all Batman & Spiderman movies included). Meh.

I haven't seen The Joker yet, I am hoping it is as good as I've been lead to believe.

foxworks: With all the remastered gaming content happening, this is a series I wish could get that treatment.
Sadly, a guy started working on a wing commander partial remake last year and dropped offf the face of the planet. See this thread https://www.wcnews.com/chatzone/threads/wc-uprez-unity3d-doodle-heavy-gif-use-mobile-users-beware.30112/page-8.

To me it looks like Wings of St.Nazaire - he also dropped from the face of the earth :(
