It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

xyem: Exactly, the metadata is shared to provide a better experience but you still download from GOG.

I'm using torrent as a model, so if a small part of the file gets corrupted during download, the hashes from other clients should pinpoint it so your client only has to re-download that segment. That'll be something for later versions though (version 1 is just "download the games" :])

Miaghstir: That does sound interesting. Even more so if it could be used for automatic downloading ov everything that's been added or changed on my account since the last time I downloaded the files.
Dang it Wrath - spoiled my test!

Qbix: for what it is worth
Wget exists for windows as well. So if you are up for some .bat scripting ;)

WrathOfTheAngels: Ehm... I don't have the knowledge for this translation, but I think one day I'll do it. even if I think that it will not be efficient like is under linux...
test

Hmmm - WrathofTheAngels ... how did you create two separate posts one right after the other (posts 12 and 13)?

By waiting long enough before submitting the second post.

WrathOfTheAngels: Xyem what lenguage are you using for realizing your downloader? I considerated Java, but I don't have enough time (I work everyday, almost for the entire day) for understanding how to login and resume download... So I worked only on my script...
It's being programmed in Perl, primarily because that is the language I know best.

huh is that a recent change? because I remember on a post I made awhile back (when I first joined practically) I tried to create a second post initially and through a couple of hours after my first one and it just appended it ... ofc maybe I because I had kept trying to create a second post it kept editing the first one ... is the wait time since point of creation or since time of last edit? Do you know how long the wait time is? I can sort of guess that it is less than 12 minutes from Wrath's two posts.

Yes, it recently went back to how it worked during the beta. Wonder if they trashed the irritating post length limit they had introduced as well?

According to Miaghstir it is a wait time thing.

P.S. Apologies for slightly hijacking the thread. Again, good work on new downloaders (to you and xyem).

That's fantastic! I'll have to update my GOG feature wishlist. That would be cool if they also changed the post limit ... ran into that once or twice two - the two in combination (post limit + appending posts) were deadly

But the power up only lasts for a few hours ... use it not wisely but incessantly while you have it. :)

Pre-pre-pre-probably-works-badly-but-might-be-better-than-the-official-downloader version of "XGOG Downloader" is available!

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/xgog_downloader
this evening I'll post a new version of this script and this week-end I'll start to work on a downloader for windows :)
Thanks a bunch, the Linux script works great! Please, don't spend all your energy on the windows version :-)

I feel like I am going head-to-head with you to make the best downloader.

My version is more functional than yours, but no-one seems to want to use it :(

I think that your downloader is a bit uncomfortable, because you need to edit the queue.txt file ;)

Ha, well if having better functionality is not worth the trade-off of deleting one character instead of typing 1 or more characters, I'm not going to bother with making XGOG Downloader any more user-friendly than I need it to be :P

Thank's to Barefoot_Monkey suggestion, I improved the script, and now you don't have to export your browser cookies for getting GoG games :)
