The buzz around GOG's closure and re-opening has slowly faded away and we wanted to sum up the beta stage with a special gift for all those who have been with us during that period. Two years ago we began our revival of all-time PC-gaming classics for all you fans of good old games. Through ups and downs we’ve received a lot of support from the best community we could ever imagine (that’s you!) and we want to thank everyone who’s been with us through our beta stage with a special gift.

Any user who created an account before we closed down the site and moved out of beta (that's September 20, 2010) will receive Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games for free! We'll be adding the game automatically to your accounts during the next days, so don't worry if the game is not yet there.

Of course, we're not forgetting about all those users who joined the GOG family in the last few weeks. Together with Strategy First we're launching a special promotion to offer their GOG catalogue at a 50% discount.

If you've been a part of GOG beta and you already bought Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games, please click here, as we have an alternative gift for you.

Thanks for being with us!
GOG: I love you guys. Really.

But... I have a problem... Since I already own Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games...

I have to choose now! And... I... don't... know... which... AAUGH!

(Also I pretty much thought I had all the games I wanted from the promo, but, I get one free and now I'm thinking I should... AAUGH!)

Love you guys. Seriously. You are the best thing to happen to gaming since the Amiga.
Thank you GOG, that is quite an appreciation gift. Thank you for continuing to have such a wonderful company.
thank you GoG
and what if someone's already got the game?
Thank you :-)

Aliasalpha: I just noticed that this game has no manual, how weird is that?
The readme references a reference card: "Quick Saves are now permanent, not temporary as indicated on the reference
card."

No no...Thank YOU, GOG.

I remember very clearly the moment I decided to hitch my wagon here: "Wow. They got all of Fallout to work on the new Microsoft Crapfest. Someone's got a forward thinking view of legacy software." The day I felt supremely justified in that decision: "Oh good god. They got Master of Magic. Someone finally dug this one out of the code-grinding hell it's been in for years." (I may have wept openly.) The recent unearthing of the latest RPG renaissance--Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale--has me ecstatic.

So maybe I'm older, and not as hip as I once was in the gaming scene. I'm still able to find some great gaming experiences with the new gen stuff--I rather liked Bioshock, the FPS Fallout 3, all the Biowares--but I find almost anything blockbuster-y today to require a steady reticule hand and a third eye in the back of my head. I just don't have those much anymore. Since the current industry seems dead-set on making sure anything before 2007 does NOT work on current systems, I'm so grateful there is someone out there that remembers a time when the 'ware didn't care when fantastic old games came out.

So now I'm going to try Jagged Alliance with its adorably jagged graphics--I did enjoy Fallout Tactics for a while, so I'm fairly confident I will like this--while I use my Halo 2 case to prop up the short leg on my desk.

A toast to GOG! >clink<

Then you get to choose from a list of games. I don't know the full list as I already have ... a lot of the strategy first games. But, well, the ones I don't have? I get one free.

And now I'm going "dammit, I may just... buy ... the... AAUGH! others!" (:

They're clever, those GOG folks (:
Ah dang, for some reason I thought I already had this and clicked the Alt gift... lol then realized ah......... I see gog gave it to me, that's why I had it :P
