Fenixp: What I do find unethical tho is buying a bunch of bundles and then giving out (and even worse, trading) Steam/Desura codes from them. Why? Because you buy one copy of every game there and this way, you're effectively multiplying some of them even by three. That's illegal for one, since those codes are there for convenience only, and out of these two ways of illegaly obtaining a copy, pirating is the lesser evil since it doesn't cost bandwitch to the distributors. I know you're trying to be nice and I'd actually approve if you paid 3x the average price for every bundle (wouldn't make it legal, but at least ethical,) but hey, who am I to be pedantic.
I'm surprised no one stated this before.

gameon: He's ok to give out full unredeemed bundles though. And the official groupees guys were fine with me trading a key from my bundle with another user who didn't have the bundle.
As I said, complete gift codes are not an issue.

To be quite frank, it is not the official call of the groupees guys what on how to handle these issues. That can only be done by the rights holder. But if the groupees guys say it is ok, you can assume that they checked it with the rights holder. (Even if they didn't. It is their problem, not yours then).

If you get an official confirmation from some bundle guys, go ahead, it is their head in the noose from then on.

I thought several times about making a thread about this.

It is especially jarring as everyone is on and up about "gamers rights" and how "DRM is taking gamer rights away" but at the same time many are completely ignoring the rights of the people that makes those gains for personal gain.

I may or may not post the keys.

Even some bundle operators who state that keys can not be gifted individually have said that it is okay to do so. It is merely there in the terms to cover all eventualitys.

Secondly terms in these types of things are overruled by the laws in whatever country you are in when you buy them. EU/UK resale laws etc. overrule anything that is contained in terms of sale.
In other words, legally they can't stop you doing whatever you wish with something you have paid money for.
Even the second hand digital goods case from three months ago could apply.

Do as you wish. I said my part. If you feel secure enough in those legal questions go ahead.

I don't have a problem giving the codes away.
I know there is no legal issue.

But if there is a consensus around here that would rather they were not given then no problem I know somwhere else they can go.

Lemme know if you want them or not :)
I usually give away Steam key I don't want on Steamgift,so for me is ok.
I'm sure most people are willing to take the slight risk, i'd be interested in the steam related stuff myself

GO AWAY, WE DON'T WANT YOUR KIND HERE
(Unless you have WH40K Dawn of war 2, terraria, HiB5 or FTL).
I'll take them all, and go to prison in your place if needed :P

ZYZKryten:
As AFnord said. :)
I would assume anyone uncomfortable about giving away indie bundle keys wouldn't enter your contest, so go for it.
