Quake wars is in limbo: IP is owned by ID, game was developed by Splash Damage, published by pre-blizact Activision.

since it's not actually Activision's game, but they own the servers, it's a constant battle for the game's server admins to keep the player ranking / key authentication servers on ... much less get an update rolled out to have the game update punkbuster to a version that doesn't have issues with win 7.
Late to the thread, but I'll join in. I have difficulty finishing games, so this might actually spur me to finish a few.

My four will be:

Skyrim (Main Quest)
Torchlight 2
Baldur's Gate 1 (Have a save up to Cloakwood but stopped playing it)
Fallen Enchantress (Random Map, every AI, normal or harder, play until I win through Diplomacy or Domination with time and magic conditions turned off)
I tried making a post like a week ago, but my internet got interrupted and the post didn't make it. So I'll just make a new list of games to finish and/or start and finish:

1) Earthbound
2) The Witcher
3) Radiant Historia
4) Metro 2033

Other games on my backlog that I still need to finish: Xenoblade Chronicles, Amnesia the Dark Descent, Johto run in Pokemon HeartGold, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Shining Force II, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, and much more.

Torchlight 2

I wish you good luck with those three (don't know about the forth). Those are very long games!
Okay, first one in the bag:

To The Moon: what a great little game!
Heh, watch me fuck around and not finish anything after instigating this ...
WOHOOO just finished Contra ! Finally ! This was the one I was afraid of. Oh well, 3 more games to go!
D'oh, and just when I burned through finishing five games in January: Tomb Raider: Legend, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, AvP, Bioshock 2, Sniper Elite V2.

A bit late to the party, but I finished my first before I knew there was a challenge:

Hydrophobia: Prophecy - may not count since I got to the last battle and it's just too frickin' hard.

On the list to finish:
Shogun 2, first campaign, can see the light at the end of the tunnel
Mark of the NInja - stalled on the last level a few months ago, now I have motivation to finish
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
And since I cheated on hydrophobia, CoD Black Ops - what the heck, it's short
Two down: Ratchet and Clank 2 (Going Commando) and Super Castlevania IV (holy crap what a great game).

I've started Orcs Must Die 2 and Quantum Conundrum... but those are both pretty short so I'm sure I can do better. Jak 2 and Sly 2 can probably still fit into the month.
Two down - Ultima 7 and Ultima 2 (ie one of the best and one of the worst of the series!)
Finished Closure (damn good game, btw!), that's 3 out of 4 done. Next up is a big one though, Mass Effect 3. No idea how long that game is.

Yeah that added on final boss is so jarring and lame eh? My main problem first time around is I didn't see the popup thingy telling me I had to change ammo! ll. Was playing for an hour or so before I googled, only to discover I was doing the right thing, just skipped the whole changing ammo bit first. haha. Felt a bit of a tool after that.

The pickups around the area respawn I think, so feel free to go to town. I think it is the only part in the game where that happens, so I didnt expect that to happen either. Also the enemies there almost always drop ammo, which again was not how the rest of the game worked when the odds of that were considerably lower. Overall I really didn't like that Final Boss. It just felt so tacked on and out of pace with the rest of the game up to that point.

Of course I am assuming here you are playing "Prophecy". If you are playing "Pure" then, er.. forget I said anything. In some ways, I honestly prefer Pure to Prophecy. The lame final boss fight and re-casting Scoot the main offenders. I want Scoot from the original build back. All Cocky and chatty and Scottish. He was awesome. Prophecy Scoot is just too bland after Original Scoot.

What the hell, which version did I play 2 years or so ago on XBLA?
Either way it sucked, I just want to know if there was a less sucky version?

The original version was only released on XBOX360, and it was terrible. The only good thing it had going for it was the engine and Original Scoot.

This version no longer exists. It was replaced with "Pure". It was a huge improvement in almost every conceivable way, making the game actually playable! It really is still pretty average tho to be honest.

They then pretty much rebuilt the entire thing, called it "Prophecy", and released it on Steam.

The Fourth version was more a minor tweak to Prophecy. I'm pretty sure the only difference is a few fix patches and Move support. It is also only available on PS3.

So in all there were four different versions. Now there is only three as the first version no longer exists. Each of the remaining three versions are available on different platforms.

What does Scoot sound like now? Cause I kind of recall "scottish".
