So I've been detective-ing lately around the internet, searching for information on old games from my childhood. But I thought, maybe I should devote some time to something that more people than just I would appreciate. And, afaik, the second most desired thing here, besides games, is soundtracks. (I'm hoping, if game x are already on here, it might be easier to get music for game x as a separate download [vs. trying to get totally new games on here].) I figured I'd do some research, and try to contact the composer(s) about if they had control over it or ask if I needed to contact somebody else, etc. etc. (It may be a complete waste of time, but the thrill of the hunt is there. ;)

SO, what I would like to know is, what is the #1 soundtrack that is not released on GOG that you would like to see here? (I'm going to assume, if the music wasn't released on CD or as digital files, there is a way to at least semi-easily extract it from the game.) Consider what tunes you found the most beautiful or addictive out of all the GOG games, and are not here but you wished could see here, maybe for others to easily download and enjoy (vs. torrenting the music or going to an external source). I'll go through the list, add up the votes, let the composers know we're interested (as long as I can locate them), and if I get stuck or nothing pans out, I'll move on to the #2 most wanted soundtrack. (Hopefully GOG guys will pay a little attention to this thread, too, and keep in mind how the inclusion of a soundtrack as a bonus item can push people over the edge into "sale" territory. :)

So I hope to see a lot of votes! (And if you want to mock me for making this thread, well, that's your right as citzen of these 'Mircan states of 'Merca.)

EDIT: Oh, if you'd like to write, like, your top 3 or top 5 desired soundtracks, you could push for more than one. (Please number them, though.)

Me too, actually. Looks like there were 4 or 5 people that worked on it, so that might be a doozy to try to get here, but MAN is that great music. (I did illegally d/l some tracks, but having a complete - or even a "best of" - soundtrack would be great.)

Anyways, carry on other people! Let me and others know what you want, music-wise!
Gothic 3 has a good soundtrack.
Sorry for the bump, but I'd really like YOU (yes, you) to contribute. Unless nobody really cares, well, okay. :-/
At the moment I can think of two games:
Advent Rising
Crusader: No Remorse
The Gabriel Knight games. No contest.
CRUSADER games
Gabriel Knight games
The Unreal games
Arcanum.

I second that. The soundtrack is freely available (at Sierra Help pages or Terra-Arcanum in better quality) and yet it's not on GOG.

I actually sent an email to Ben Houge about that yesterday, via ben [at] benhouge [dot] com. Hopefully I'll hear back, preferably with good news. ;)

http://www.mediafire.com/echosector, for now (if you didn't see it in the sub-forum). I'll ask Vagabond what's up, since he seems to have a lil' sway. (I'm guessing it's standard EA holdup, though. :( )

So I guess I'm just doing random ones right now. ;)

Second to last bump, then I will leave the matter alone.

Just a followup: Tim tweeted me back and pointed out the music was being sold elsewhere, for about $10 per album. (I'm guessing HB5 was an exception, b/c of charities involved and what not.) So probably no such luck unless GOG is willing to bump the price up ~10 bucks, or they can convince someone at Double Fine to allow it in at no extra charge.
