Not sure if this counts as 32 bit or 16 but it was on the snes: Donkey Kong Country 2.

DKC 1-3 was all I had on the console and was all I needed.
Even when my friends moved on to the N64 I'd still be champing the snes.

Sonic series (Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my favorite!)
Gunstar Heroes
Phantasy Star series
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Rocket Knight Adventures
Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse

Does Sega CD count? I'd like to add:
Sonic CD
Lunar: The Silver Star
Dungeon Explorer (Third in the series, not a remake of the TurboGrafx 16 game)

Super Mario World
Secret of Mana
Super Metroid
Super Mario Kart
Tetris Attack
Mega Man X
Super Mario All-Stars
Kirby Super Star
dmetras: Phantasy Star series
My all time favorites, well except III, I pretend it's better than it is when I play it.

You poor Shinobi-deprived people.
Killer Instinct.....nothing was better than hearing "ULTRA ultra ultra COMBO!"
Drelmanes: Sonic the Hedgehog 1-2-3, obviously.
Indeed, I'd also list Sonic CD, Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 3D Blast. Then that list would sum up my childhood nicely.
orcishgamer: You mention the Genesis without saying Phantasy Star II-IV, for shame!
I grew up with a Genesis, but I haven't played any of the Phantasy Star titles beyond the original.

Some of my other favourites would include Contra: Hard Corps, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time, Streets of Rage 2 and Gunstar Heroes.
Shining Force 1 and 2.
Golden Axe 1 and 2 (I actually just recently played these for the first time).
Final Fantasy 6 - still the best JRPG for me
Street Fighter 2 - best beat em up series
Mortal Kombat 2 - not really a good game, but it had ninjas and gore and an interesting world
I like quite a few 16 bit games but I'll try and keep the list short.

Super Metroid
Legend of Zelda a Link to the past
Final Fantasy 4 and 6
Megaman X
Super Mario World
Chrono Trigger

I could go on further but those are the ones I'd say I like the best. I remember being scared of playing Super Metroid when I was younger and now I think it's one of the best of the series.

jamym: Super Mario bros 3
DoctorGOGgles: That's an 8-bit NES game (unless you mean the version from Super Mario All-Stars remake for SuperNES). Still a great game though :)
Nope, just a spaz
wvpr: You poor Shinobi-deprived people.
I hated Shinobi, but thats more to do with the fact i was shit at it.

I never owned a Genesis so....

Final Fantasy VI
Saturday Night Slam Masters
Scooby Doo Mysteries
Street Fighter II
Sunset Riders
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island

I'm positive that there are more that I'm just not thinking of.
I was a HUGE SNES fanboy. Like, it was my life I think. I moved on to PC games after that and never looked back really, but the SNES has a large place in my heart.

Favorite games:
Final Fantasy II (IV)
Final Fantasy III (VI)
Casltevania IV
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Aero the Acrobat
TMNT: Turtles in Time
Jurassic Park
Star Fox
Zelda: Link to the Past
Super Metroid
Mario Kart
Street Fighter 2

Pretty much all the basics. The only weird one might be Aero, but man I loved that game for some reason. Also Shadowrun was amazing and I played it toward the end of my console days. It really set me up nicely for my venture into Western RPGs on PC.

Same here buddy; I got my first computer a few years after the SNES.

Super Metroid
Zelda: Link to the Past
Out of this world
the Super Star Wars games
Flashback (I like it beeter on the PC)

Kid Chameleon
Road Rash

if Sega CD counts
Sewer Shark
Ground Zero Texas
SNES (AKA The one I had):
Contra III
Castlevania IV and Dracula X
Killer Instinct
Super Metroid
Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World
Chrono Trigger
Rock'n'Roll Racing
Top Gear 2
Super Punch Out

Mega Drive (AKA Genesis):
Contra Hard Corps
Castlevania Bloodlines
Super Shinobi 3
Road Rash 3
Gunstar Heroes
Comix Zone
Streets of Rage 1,2 and 3 (mostly 1 and 3)

I also enjoyed lots of Street Fighting and Mortal Kombating, but honestly, I rather remember them in the Arcades. Golden Axe in a similar fashion.

Well, thanks, everyone. Now I'm sad. Remembering my earlier years always makes me sad, I don't really know why, even though I have great memories. So no worries there.

Well, I guess I miss the old days too much (and I'm only freakin' 27!! O__O ).
