I got a tablet recently and tried this there..
Man, it is sucking the battery up like it's...I don't know, really bad.
Normal work on it, about 9 hours of battery life.
Playing games like Grid, Colonization, etc, about 4-5 hours.
FTL= 2-3 hours at best!
WTF? lol
Well, it's worth it right? :D
That really has nothing to do with the GOG version though.

I've heard a few people say that the game hogs like 99% of their CPU, because there is no framerate limit. Enabling V-sync in the options menu fixes the problem. If you haven't done it already, give that a try. Maybe it could help your battery life.

I never realized FTL could be so all-consuming, but then again when I play it I rarely have anything else going except sometimes various music programs. Thanks for the tidbit.
It's pretty brutal on battery life for whatever reason and makes laptops run hot. I don't play on my laptop often, but I'll have to try the V-Sync option if I do.
it is a shame cause it is such a good game for on the go gaming.
