Okay so I LOVE this game and yes I've played it through multiple times before I applied this mod. But that being said I know of ALOT of people HATE the fact that they don't get enough time to just explore! So I went online for a few friends and found this basic mod that disables the Rebel Fleet from pursuring you ala the title of the mod. In my opinion appllying this mod turns the game into the final Episode of Voyager... what do I mean by this is you start far away from the Federation and you have to make it back to them and have a final confrontation with the Reb(Cough!)Borg.

One thing I will say about this mod is that by the end of the game your ship is completely over powered and it does mess with the point system since your able to go to every sector and explore all the random events that happen.

That being said I really enjoy the game more with this mod then the base game because I dont feel rushed.
It also keeps the Perma Death so once your ship is dead or characters die they are dead and you have to start over.

The link is below hope you guys enjoy it!

As you pointed out, removing the need to compromise between scavenging vs running away, throws the balance completely off, and makes the final battle pointless (since you'll always find the correct weapons/upgrades by exploring sectors in full)... if you don't get extra-unlucky in the first 2 sector, you've already won.

For an alternative way of playing, i like more the Infinite Space concept... a truer roguelike approach with no fleet pursuit, no final boss, no fixed number of level; just an infinite progression of sector with enemies of mixed strenght and some mini-bosses

I like the sound of that mod more then just disabling the fleet. My only concern is that its still in beta. when the mods complete this definately will be what I try next thanks!

it is completely playable right now, if you wanna give it a shot... played some games already, with no crashes or apparent bugs.
It is also quite challenging even on easy
