Forgive me if this is a silly question - I'm normally a Windows user, but I'm borrowing a Linux laptop while I'm recuperating from some medical stuff. (I'm actually in a nursing home. It's weird.)

Anyhoo, how do I get the game to run? It seems to be a .sh file and the only option is to open it with gedit, which just garners a gray screen.

They must have the file association set that way for .sh files. Try right-click and execute in terminal. Alternatively, open a terminal to the containing folder and run: bash filename.sh
Strange -- opening with Terminal wasn't an option, even when viewing a list of all available applications.

However, I searched the computer for Terminal, opened it, and after learning a few terminal commands I was indeed able to run the installer! Thank you!

Do you happen to know if there is a way to run it in windowed mode? Or to swap out to other applications? Trying to deal with the copy protection and alt-tab doesn't seem to work.

For windowed mode, press alt-enter.

To remove mouse capture (so you can move the mouse out of the window), press ctrl-f10.

The copy protection has been removed from most (if not all) of the games. For PoR, try just pressing the ENTER key to bypass it. For other games, you may need to type a couple of characters first.

Thanks to both of you!
