Rookie question. I'm losing the ability for my characters to pick up or trade items, apparently because I'm carrying too much money. I'm guessing I need to convert the money into Gems or something to lighten it up, but shops only accept Gold and I've got very little (about 1,000), but all sorts of other denominations.

So how exactly do I convert all my various coins into gold?

Is there a bank of some sort somewhere?

Do I just drop it all?

You didn't mention what game you were playing, so am going to ASS-U-ME that you are playing Pool of Radiance.

When you get to a merchant, POOL all of your gold and then buy something, the merchants will use up those pesky coppers and silvers first.

Just don't forget to pick up your change when you leave, via the Share or Take command.

Shops accept all kinds of money. It's simply like Dollar and Cent. Pool your money, buy something and they should give you back the lighter and more valuable currency in exchange.

Er... yeah. Pool of Radiance.

And I thought I tried the "Pool & Buy" thing in the Jewelery Store, but it didn't seem to work...

...but going back and trying again I think I may have neglected to "Pool" the first time, or just tried to buy something I still couldn't afford, because now I'm able to buy stuff...

[sheepish grinning intensifies]

So... uh... yeah, thanks. Sorry to bother you all with such a boneheaded oversight...

Is no bother...

Don't curse me though, the first time you leave a shop without picking up your change :p
