I used the GOG downloader to get the game files, but when I tried to install, there was a message that the installer files were missing so the game could not install. Oddly enough, this is a re- download and install attempt following my " return to factory settings" that I completed.
I read the support comments about download/ install issues and saw that I had to download all seven files. As far as I can tell there are only three game-play files, the others being manual, wallpaper, etc. files. I got them anyway, but the installer
Files were still missing. So, I cannot install the game.
Has anyone else experienced this? I appreciate any help.
I did read on this forum about using a non-GOG downloaded for this game. I will try that while hoping for the community's input.
Thanks, Muzzien

Try downloading the installation files through a web browser while logged into the GOG website instead.

For that, there are only 3 install files. These are the file names:
setup_fear_platinum_collection_2.0.0.5.exe
setup_fear_platinum_collection_2.0.0.5-1.bin
setup_fear_platinum_collection_2.0.0.5-2.bin

Just log into your GOG account, go to ACCOUNT
Select LIBRARY
Select FEAR Platinum

Then download the 3 files under Game Downloads.

They have these sizes:
29 MB
3.9 GB
3.1 GB
Related to that, kinda: Store page says it's 7.1 GB on the drive.
Galaxy however claims it's 16 GB download and 16 GB installed, which seems awfully huge. Not even modded Skyrim AND modded Fallout 3 together are quite that huge.

Can confirm: the main install folder and its subfolders total 15.58 GB (this is not counting whatever it stores in other obscure places); however, this includes both the expansions, which are automatically installed along with the main game.

Ah! Okay. No option to install without expansions? Because if there's no way, the store page needs an update.

Nope, no option.
What do you mean by "the store page needs an update"?

BlackSun: Because if there's no way, the store page needs an update.
Nope, store page is for the offline installer.

So I can install it from the installer without any addons, then?
It's just Galaxy that's downloading the whole thing in one go?
I is confuse.

What he means is that the size of the standalone (a.k.a. offline) installer(s) -- in this case, one installer comprising 3 files: 1 .EXE & 2 .BINs -- is what's apparently reported on a game's store page, rather than the size of the installed game.
It doesn't matter which method you use to download and install the game -- you're still stuck installing the full Platinum edition as one package (though with separate launchers installed for the expansions).

So in other words, no matter which way, ~16 GB is required for the game. Thx!

Yup. The only issue is how many gigabytes you're willing to download. :)
