Hi,
I never got around to install FT, but if If you're on Vista or Win 7 and the saves are not in the game folder in (Fallout Tactics\Core\user\save) try looking in
C:\users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\V irtual Store\Program Files\gog.com\Fallout Tactics
The AppData folder may be hidden by default. If so, go into folder options and tick the option for 'show hidden folders, drives and files'
If you're on a 64 bit OS replace Program Files by Program Files (x86) in the path above.
Edit:
Before reinstalling you should probably make sure what it is exactly you have to backup. It could be the whole 'user' folder. Just make sure you backup everyhting you need.

Saves are in:
GOG.com/Fallout Tactics/core/user/save/

Bodyless: Saves are in:
GOG.com/Fallout Tactics/core/user/save/

This folder was empty on my computer.

This sounds like the most likely solution. Especially if the Appdata folder is hidden. The OS was Windows 7 RC1 32bit.
My impatiance got the better of me, so I cannot verify right now. I will check on the when i reinstall FOT and mark the proper solution as such.
Thanks.

Well, it may be different since i am using win xp. But games that old usually stick to a folder withing the instalaltion folder.
Are you sure that you had any saves at all? :)

Windows Vista and Windows 7 don't like altering the contents of application folders in protected locations (e.g. "Program Files"). It's to do with DEP (which can be switched off totally and I think also by an application exclusion list).
The workaround I use for games is to not install to any protected folder. My games get installed to C:\Games instead of the default path.
However, even this is not perfect as some of my games still end up with save games getting placed within the user My Documents folder with some files going into the user AppData folder (which is a hidden folder).
So it's worth checking the game's install location and subfolders first, and if you cannot find the saves then check out the logged in user's My Documents location.
