Hey guys,

I did a search for this but nothing came up. I like to use the Alt Tab function to return to the desktop when playing games. When I do this with Fallout 2 it takes me to the desktop, but I cant seem to get back to the game. It only brings up the GOG Galaxy ap instead, and there doesn't seem to be a way to get back to the game from there.

Does anyone else do this? Is there a better way to be able to access my desktop while playing the game?
Can't you play the game without GOG Galaxy? I just play it through the local installation (no gog galaxy) and alttabing works fine.

Fair enough, but I am already pretty far into the game at this point, and also wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing the problem. I did find a workaround though, just open the task manager and double click on the game. It takes me right back to it.

That in no way prevents you from just running fallout2.exe directly.

Haven't played 2 yet, but I can tell you that with 1 I had to open task manager and click "switch to".
Fallout 2 ? i cant test it on my win 10 cause i cannot get the game to work i tried all settings and the config files to reduce the 16 to 20% cpu load.....

I managed to get Fallout 1 play at max 5% cpu instead of 20% or more which means that the cpu will be at 3.6 ghz all the way and will never go down, i read it is because the old games were made to get the max out of a cpu...

ALT TAB ( or alt esc) does work on win 10 with Fallout 1: the problem is refresh, the screen will be black like a jigsaw puzzle, and you have to use the mouse to ""erase"" the black trails and make the screen readable again, or by ALT TABBING until thinks are back to normal again, back and forth many times which is a huge pain in the but :D

Rage of mages 1+2 also abuse CPU , many classic work a charm on 10 but the real good games and my favorites like fallout jagged alliance etc etc etc were poorly made compatible with win 10 and even with win 7 , which used to work years ago... so i dont know what is fiex/ changed i did notice that many older installer evrsions were replaced by more recent: commandos games the same story : the first once i doenload years ago here on gog worked a charm.

Anyway i uninstalled all of them cause its no use trying to make them work on win 10.
