Every time i launch fallout 2, i tend to get a message along the lines of "This application may not have exited correctly" and it's starting to get really annoying. it doesn't stop me from playing the game, but i would really like a way to solve this problem. it's just recently started, and i don't know what may be the problem.

I have a few questions. Which version of Windows are you using? Which compatibility settings are you using? Are you using a mod like the Restoration Project?

i usually tend to set my compatibility settings to windows xp 3. And this is something relatively new. it just recently started happening. And no, i'm not using the restoration project, though i have before. I've also tried re-installing the game, but nothing seems to change. it's not game breaking or anything, just a little annoying. Also, i am using windows 8 version. Any advice would be welcomed.

This sounds similar to what i get eveyr time i launch the game. I unfortunately have the latest version of windows(which is awful).
