Hey all,
I have a working cd version of both FO 1+2.
Is it still advisable to buy the GoG version?
Anything besides the extras (wallpapers, etc.) that make the purchase worthwhile for me?
Thanks in advance!

It's pretty much just the extras. But there are a lot, including soundtracks and the Fallout Bible. Also, the games are already patched so if you have an older CD version, installing the GOG version might be simpler.

A word of warning... GOG's version of Fallout 1 is the censored European version, so you will have to apply a fan patch to restore children to the game. This is discussed in a sticky thread in the forums.

EDIT: I had mistakenly said that Fallout 2 was censored, but actually it's Fallout 1 that's censored. Sorry! Again, there is a fan patch to remove the censorship.

Can I ask? What arts are included with Tactics? So big number, 177. Is it only pip-boy pictures or something more interesting?
Thinking about buying (FO 1/2 already bought and played many times), but not sure yet. I mean, FOT have not so good responses. And I certainly want to buy a bunch other Interplay games and I want to save another 3 USD if FOT-purchase not worth it. If not game, then included bonuses especially arts, may tip the scale to buying FOT.

Odd. I'm playing the GoG version and I have children in the game. One of the little bleeders keeps following me around one of the starting cities. If I apply the children patch will there be more children NPCs?

Fallout Tactics includes different avatars
It also includes a "board game" based on the game. You'll have to print out the pieces

Uh oh... did I get it backwards? Is it Fallout 1 that's censored on GOG? I'm fairly certain that one of them is.
from all the research that i've done,

GOG versions

Fallout 1 = censored

Fallout 2 = NOT censored

its kinda weird...but oh well

Cool, thanks. I edited my post above so people won't be confused.
Odd how one is censored and the other isn't. You think both would be or wouldn't be. Eh, I applied my patches for the first so it doesn't matter in the long run.
I think Fallout 1 is only censored because GOG's policy is to distribute its games with the latest patches, and the latest Fallout 1 patch made the European censorship international. At least that's what I've heard.
Hm. Yes, the European release was after the US, I believe, so a European patch would have fixed the latest bugs and included censorship. Makes sense.

Nope, it's cencored because it's the version of the game Interplay provided to all DD services and is available in it's physical Fallout Trilogy as well. You can easily turn it to fully uncencored US version by downloading TeamX's Semi-Official Fallout v.1.2.1 patch (fallup121rc3.7z, also needed for their other patches to work). Here's the full readme and here's what it does for EU/GOG version of the game:

UK and EU users
---------------
* Children animation is bundled with the patch and enabled in the game engine.
No additional installation of children patch required.
(falloutw.exe, nachl???.fr?)
* Strange Razor's offensive exclamation "You (male)Bastard! (female)Bitch!"
changed to "You ass!". Just like in the US patch. (razor.msg)
* Removed due to censorship "Drug resistant" and "Drug reliant" traits'
pictures are back now. (addict.frm, drugrest.frm)
* Replaced due to censorship occurencies of words "drug", "addiction", etc.
are back now. (25 .msg)

EU users only
-------------
* It's no longer possible to ask Lars to go and take down Gizmo before
getting the evidence. (killian.int)
* Removed due to unknown reason option to leave Militray Base security system
dialog without attempts to hack the codes or enter them blindly is back.
