Hey guys!

I'm currently playing Fallout 2 (without any changes on the version that comes from GoG) and having kind of a problem with a quest in Modoc.
Farell wanted me to clean his garden, which I am sure I did some time ago (I also had the thank-you-dialogue with him afterwards). Now I happen to notice that the quest remains unsolved in my quest log.
I went back to the garden and found all rats dead. I walked around the place and randomly tried starting a battle to make sure no critter is hiding off screen, which helped at the Brahmin quest. But not this time.
My first visit to Modoc is several hours back, so loading a previous save is really no option.
If there won't be a solution for the "problem", I'm sure I can live with the quest remaining unsolved in the quest log.

But if you guys have anything helpful to contribute, feel free to do so.

Thanks!

I propose you to Install at least Killap's unofficial patch for Fo2:
http://www.killap.net/

Just "patch" will not add new stuff but will fix many bugs. Like that one with "solved-unresolved" quests.

Thx for the hint. I tried installing the patch, but got an error stating that the game is installed in c:\program files.
If I extract the save files, reinstall the game in another folder and copy the save files there, will my game keep working?

Strange. When I tried to install then patch's installer did find correct localization (see: attachment). If installer didn't find appropriate folder then you can "manually" write correct path.

BTW After patch your old saves will not work anymore.

Well, in fact my game got installed to c:\program files\GOG\Fallout 2, which was default. The error said something about problems being likely to occur if the game gets patched in this folder.
But anyway, I'm very glad it didn't work, because since

I wouldn't have had the patience to start over again. If I go for a new game someday, I will patch it beforehand.

Thx for your help!
