I already own an original copy of the Fallout games, but I would buy another one from here if it solves the problem with my input mode.
My only PC is a slate tablet, so I don't use mouse and keyboard. While Fallout 2 is working fine, the first Fallout is not: the pen input of tablets use an absolute coordinate input system (instead of a relative one like mouse) and usually old programs doesn't support it.
Can you please let me know if the modification made to make it compatible with Vista also solved this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Leonardo

I am also really curious about whether or not the GoG versions of fallout 1 and 2 will be playable with a tablet.
Fallout on a tablet PC? Wow, I wanna see that O_o

I couldn't wait so... I tried it myself.
As I was expecting Fallout 1 still requires a mouse, the input system is not updated. Fallout Tactics works like a charm with my pen! And I guess even Fallout 2 should work, since already the original was fully functional with just pen input.
L.
I have Fallout 1, 2, and tactics from CD not from GOG. Fallout 1 + 2 do not work with my tablet, the cursor just gets stuck around the edges. Haven't tried my cd version of tactics. From what you say though it doesn't look like the GOG 1 + 2 have tablet support.

Wow, this is an old thread. Any luck with this? I installed Fallout on my Asus slate, and the cursor is uncontrollable. I would love to be able to play these classics with my pen!
