Buhua: The system is win7 64, I installed Fallout and the mods in the recomonded order as

1) Install Fallout 1 from GOG.com
2) Install "Fallout_1_TeamX_Patch_ENG_1.2w" (either via nma or just google)
3) Install "f1child_patch" (again, nma)
4) Install "fallup13" - this is the TeamX patch 1.3.4 (nma)
5) Install "f1npcmod" from TeamX (again, nma)
6) Install "sfall1" (from http://timeslip.chorrol.com/sfall.html)
7) Install "Fallout1_High_Resolution_Patch_v1.3" (nma)

It worked ok except that the screen flashes every few seconds. And also when openning the charactor or Map window etc, it goes black except for the small window in the center. Anybody could advise how to fix it? Thanks.
For the screen flash, I think there is an option in the f1_res.ini file that you can enable. The other issue you can't fix, those screens were made in 640x480 and can't be resized. Maybe they can be scaled up, but I haven't found that option.

#2 - Unofficial 1.3.5 Patch
#3 - NPC Mod 3.4
#4 - sfall1 and Engine Tweak 1.18e
#5 - Fallout 1 High Resolution Patch 3.06

For color fix: set in the game menu 16b. colors

It's working fine for me except the problem with black background color when I am in the map for example. Unofficial 1.3.5 patch should contain Child Patch but I haven't checked it yet.

Hate to break it to you but someone else has already done this plus some additional work. I actually recommend it bc it has almost everything Rysa recommends downloading all in one shot.

Anyone know of any mod for Fallout 1 that allows Dogmeat to leave your group peacefully I can't defeat the master peacefully with him in the group.
Can you recommend the FIXT as a first time mod? I've read, that it has some new content compared to the original one. I want to get as close to the original as possible, with bugfixes, high-res patch, and content restoration (like cut-out children quests in EU).

The Fallout Bible, has lots of behind-the-scenes stuff as well as design documents, I think No Mutants Allowed/nma.com has it as well as Van Buren (the meant to be Fallout 3 before Bethesda) design documents on it as well that you might be interested in.
If you read the Van Buren documents you'll recognize some things from Fallout: New Vegas, that's cause New Vegas was made by the original team designing Van Buren.

Oh ok, yeah I've known about the Fallout Bible but haven't really read through it. But anyway to answer your question, there was at one point a restoration project for Fallout 1 and Fallout Fixt already has what was done as optional installations. Here's a link to the wiki page. Fallout looks stretched on my laptop running on Win 7. Can't seem to make it respect the aspect ratio. Any suggestions (other than the High Resolution Patch)?

how do i know if i have patch 1.3.4 installed? the menu still says v.1.2 and when i installed the hi-res patch it stated "1.2 TeamX version detected".

was my installation of 1.3.4 unsuccessful?
