I just noticed that the TeamX website and forums appear to have been shut down, so all the links to patches etc. are dead :-O They seem to have an archive, though, so I'm going to try to find new working links.

Bear this in mind, if you're going to install FIXT then do a clean install of Fallout, apply that mod and that mod only (it already includes all the other ones anyway and more) and then make sure you patch it up to the latest version, 4.1 at the time of writing.

What I've done with my setup is do a clean install then copy that to another folder called Fallout_patched and unloaded a patched FIXT mod into there. Also note that the falloutw.exe file in FIXT has its name in uppercase, this might not matter on Windows but if you're running Fallout on Linux under wine then the new falloutw.exe won't over-write the original because of the filename case difference.

Oh Lord, I downloaded the high resolution pack and made my resolution something and now when I play the game it is just a black screen and I can't change my resolution to something that will work.

After hearing about the Kickstarter for Wasteland 2, I decided to finally install Fallout and try it for the first time. I therefore want as close an experience to the original game as possible. With that in mind, would the TeamX v1.2 and v1.3.5 fixes, along with the v3.0.6 high resolution patch be enough, or is FIXT ok?

Considering all the crashes and glitches I have with FIXT (thought it might just be me) I'd recommend installing the patches separately.

Here is the fix:

Step 1: Go to your FO1 install folder, copy CRITTER.dat and MASTER.dat

Step 2: Go to your FIXT install folder (should be something like C:/Games/Fallout FIXT)

Step 3: Paste CRITTER.dat and MASTER.dat - now the .exe file will work, also the 64-bit-OS.bat file will work now. You can launch using either.

Got the free version today it includes the high res patch and some other patches it seems. Running Windows 7 64bit and just installed it and it runs fine no mods needed.

Oh does it? What version is it that this new free one is?
After installing the game I did a google search and downloaded this patch fallup121rc3.7z
Realizing after that the post in the forum was rather dated.
Did I screw anything up?
How exactly do I tell that the hi res patch is installed?

Anyone have issues finding the NPCs after modding? Ian and Tycho are nowhere to be found.

Thanks, that was just what I needed to change one of my tagged skills to another one.
But can you please add a note to your sticky that when you run the utility, you do not select the savegame path like the field indicates. (It says "Select Savegame. Path" - very misleading). You need to select the main game directory. I could not get this to work until I found a post on the net somewhere mentioning it.

You need to install FIXT to the same GOG.com/Fallout folder that the game is in. It doesn't say that anywhere, but I was having the same problem, moved it and it worked.

High Res patch won't work in 32-bit color (only works in 8-bit color), other than that I got the Semi-Official and the Unofficial patches setup fine. I also put in the "let you play after the end of the game" patch because it only changes the one scene at the end I guess.

Any advice on using higher color modes with the HighRes pack? (using Win7 64-bit)
