Okay, so I load up Fallout 3, yeah? Launcher pops up, yadda yadda. Game too. But on the main menu when I click New game, it just outright crashes. I've tried everything and I'm losing hope. Please help.

Exact same issue.. Going to get a refund..I don't have time to fix something they claimed was already fixed..
If you have an Intel graphics card, you will need to download a file and follow the very simple instructions - The forum isn't letting me post the link but just google "Intel HD Graphics bypass package" and go to the first result on nexusmods.com

Before you go running to request a refund, it is important that you understand that there is no edition of Fallout 3 that does NOT have this issue. And furthermore, the Steam and retail editions have many more issues with running on Windows 8 or 10 that the GOG edition does actually fix. It's frustrating to have to fix things to make your game compatible but this particular fix truly only takes a minute.

Correct, the same happens to me. I've tried everything (directx and everything possible) looking for a refund.

That's because you have an Intel Graphics Card or otherwise incompatible graphics card, like for example Intel HD Graphics something. Most bethesda games aren't compatible with the intel series, and you'll need to download a file from the internet called "d3d9.dll".
First google search for "d3d9.dll" takes you here: https://www.dll-files.com/d3d9.dll.html

Place this file in the main Fallout 3 directory where the file "Fallout3.exe" exists.
And voila! You'll now be able to play this extraordinary game.

Spend what? The file download is F-R-E-E, Free! Just drop it into the main directory and you're good to go! What are you afraid of?

I think it's just the big ad on their page to download the Client Demo ($17.95). When you first glance at it, the way it's presented looks like they want you to pay to download.
