I have played a fair while of Fallout 3 on steam. However one day it just stopped wanting to run. I have been trying to play it but each time i have tried to get the game to get past the new game it crashes on load. I further have tried literally everything I could find but I don't think it worked due to me being on Windows 8.1. What do?

I think that's the games for windows live drm on steam it doesn't want to work on windows 10 no matter what I do. There's a file you can download to bypass it but I haven't tried it. I bought the GOG version and it works just fine for me and no GFWL DRM either.

Why aren't you asking in the Steam forum?

I am asking on both. Because the problems are on both versions. And want to try and get the game I bought again.

I forgot to put in the thing but I have the GoG version. I'll try a clean install but if that doesn't work can you send the file in question?

I have figured out a way to make it work. What I did was downloaded a Tale of Two Wastelands and followed that though. Makes it so that fallout 3 plays though fallout NV. It is now working.
