After reading through the various mods available I like the sound of Restoration Project, Resolution Patch and Unofficial update by Killap. There's also another unofficial update called 1.05 I think but I don't know if that's needed or not. What I want is widescreen, bug fixes and restoring planned content.

Is there a certain order I should install them with?

Killap's two patches, the restoration project and the unofficial update, supersede and include all patches and approaches before. You only need to install either the unofficial patch, which fixes only bugs & has the resolution patch or the restoration project which additional included community finished content of things left unfinished in the game by the original developers.

Restoration project it is then. Thank you!
FYI for those that don't keep up with the NMA forums: Restoration Project 2.3.2 is out (as of 02/01/2014). WOOHOO!

Link to NMA post (which contains dl links) here: http://www.nma-fallout.com/showthread.php?201223-Fallout-2-Restoration-Project-2-3-2-%28Unofficial-Expansion%29
Has anyone else got this working? I keep getting the resolution error when I try to execute the game after Restoration Project install.

Cheers,

I just installed Fallout 2 and after some quick research i found that the information at the first page is a little bit outdated. For new comers like me i decided to share my findings and make a quick update.

If your aim is simply to get bug fixes and some bonus content loyal to the original game it is enough to install Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3.2. This includes the latest versions of the other mods listed at the first page. You need nothing else. You DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL UNOFFICIAL PATCH. It is also included.

You can find it here:

Thanks for the info cemtufekci. Does 2.3.2 also include the resolution patch?

edit: yes it does. Restoration 2.3.2 is all you need now

Windshadow: Looking for how to use these with the free Macintosh osX version I downloaded today

If it can be done with out using windows via bootcamp etc That would be best for me even it it meant using the unix terminal feature of osX.

My windows access is limited to XP sp3 on a computer that can use nothing newer due to its motherboard so when Microsoft stops supporting XP next year it turns into a machine with no internet access.

So a solution that stays on osX is what I am looking for

Cheers

I have the exact same question. The install has a windows-style directory, but it appears to be a Mac program. I don't think I have any way of running the .exe, but there is an "advanced install" type, that might work. Sadly I have no experience with this at all, so hopefully, someone can give a little advice?
With some digging, I found the answer:

I've always wanted to play through Fallout 2 in it's entirety. Heck, I still have the Fallout Trilogy which I used to run on a hand-me-down beige box. The link to widescreen support alone is worth thanks, but the bugfixes, restoration of cut content and sfall are all together amazing. So thank you OP, now Fallout 2 is ready for my chronological playthrough of the series!

Update:

Killap's Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3.3 and his Unofficial Fo2 patch project were updated recently.

Very cool.
Grabbed the latest Restoration Project.
Found this: http://resurrection.cz/en/ some time ago (I guess I'm near the end - already know where the antagonist resides). It's simply amazing. Actually it's so good that I reached near-end with pretty bad google translation (here it is, if anybody wishes to try it out.
Haven't have so much Fallout fun for a long time.

You're welcome :) Just remember, that translation can be pretty immersion breaking and no progress reports has been made on the official English version for quite some time.
If you can live with that, you're up for some good isometric Fallout fun.
