Hi I am playing the Restoration mod atm. It seems when I use my keyboard (any key) my mouse stops being able to move, it can still click in the location it is at it is just like it overrides my mouse. Anyone had a similar problem or a work around?

I have already tried all permutations of display / windowed mode. Also setting background mouse / keys in .ini etc with no avail.

There were some issues with Logich mice being sluggish. Your problem looks different, but if you're using a Logitech mouse it's still worth a try to disable "Use OS native drivers for pointer speed and acceleration" in the Logitech mouse options. That usually fixes lagging problems.

What OS are you using? Have you already tried compatibility modes?

Windows 7 is the OS. Yeah tried compat mode for every option, just to be sure. My mouse isnt logitech btw. It is just an integrated Dell touchpad, there are no options similar to the logitech to try and find some form of work around. Also it dosen't actually lag, the click still works it is just when I use the keyboard the mouse movement stops, I can still click where the mouse is positioned.

SOLVED: I selected Properties > Disable Desktop Composition, then ran as normal. Everything now works fine.

Hmm, a Dell touchpad you say. I've given this a second thought and maybe it's one of Dells laptop features, that the touchpad gets deactivated while typing, to prevent accidental mouse movement. It could be that Fallout is not able to pick it up again after you finished typing.

I can think of two possible solutions.
A) Check the touchpad's control panel and search for an option to turn this behavior off. Look for something like "accidentral contact", "Hide while typing" etc.
B) Uninstall the touchpad's driver in Safe Mode (press F8 early while booting and select "failsafe") and on a reboot let Windows install its standard drivers.

EDIT: Jahsus found the solution:

Thought this is not the actual solution, see my above post for it. ^^ Thanks for looking into it with me though!

It seems you cannot mark your own post as a solution though! Ha!
