Hello all.

I have Fallout 2 and wanted to patch with Killap's unofficial patch and the high res patch. My problem is that when you try to launch these they want to be installed in a directory with fallout2.exe. The Fallout 2 that downloads from GOG only has a falloutw.exe file which neither patch recognizes. If you change and rename the falloutw.exe to Fallout2.exe the patches recognize the path and install, but then you get an error saying "couldn't load/find text fonts". I've tried changing the .cfg file in accordance to various suggestions but that doesn't help. So, apparently the problem is with the .exe.

Am I the only one that has an executable file named falloutw.exe?

I'd appreciate any thoughts/help.

Thanks in advance.
falloutw.exe is the fallout 1 exe. Are you sure you aren't mixing up installers or directories somewhere?

Timeslip, thank you. Yes, I was mixing up folders/directories. Good grief... I feel like such an idiot now. Ha! I was like, 'Pfft, there is no possible way I am looking at the wrong directory....,' and sure enough.
