I´ve already looked around a bit, but couldn´t find the answer to my problem. Somehow, I don´t have any sound effects or speech ingame. The intro does have speech, and the overseer also had speech at the beginning of the game, but since then I´ve had no sound except for the `music`. I´m running vista, so I can´t disable my sound acceleration. Anyone experienced a similar problem? Or have any tips in general?

I would try reinstalling it to start with and running the installer as an administrator by right clicking on it if you didn't the first time just to make sure everything installed correctly.

If that doesn't work make sure you have the latest soundcard drivers you can find for your card/chipset.

I'm not sure if the game has problems with surround sound systems not heard that it has but if you have a 5.1 or 7.1 system maybe turning it to stereo and testing to see if the sound comes through then.

Oh well, that didn´t work, too bad, will try the drivers next week, when I have my laptop back. I do think it´s the soundcard. It´s one of those cards that tries to emulate surround sound on a laptop, so it´s probably a piece of brahmin dung anyway. :) Thanks for the suggestions anyway.
