I'm sorry, but after all these years that have gone by and the advancement in game technology and hardware, this "good old game" just doesn't hold up. I mean really? Who wants to play a top down RTS/RPG game anymore these days? This game sucks so bad, I wish I didn't buy it. I wasted $5.99 on this "good old game". I'm just going to stick with my XBOX 360 and only play Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and hopefully any newer Fallout game that launches in the future. Bethesda Softworks knows what I like! ;-)

Did you *not* see the screen pics before buying it? Did you *not* check YouTube for some videos of the gameplay before buying it? I'm not going to debate which game is better, but you deserve what you get it if you buy your games sight-unseen.

I'm so happy for you. Really. I am.
This game is great for someone who likes the genre. Yes the new fallout may have some throwbacks, but it is a entirely different beast then this classic. Just seeing the screenshots should have told you that.

Console-ized pseudo-RPGs that sacrifice a decent leveling system in favor of mini-nukes? If that's what you like, then yes, Bethesda is right there with you.

Well, it looks like some of that will be undone with the next version. As in they're putting the rep system back in, but still it looks like it's going to be a very different game. Related in name and story at best.

Me, for one. I'm loving the fact that GOG is releasing these old school classics since I missed a lot of them the first time around. I've found that the older I've gotten, the more I appreciate this style of game.

Yeah, I mean why read books when you can watch another stupid hollywood movie. Go play xbox.
Funny...the OP went completely unaddressed for over a month, and now look the thread, lol.

Just purchased Fallout: New Vegas from Steam. Damn this game steps all over the original series' crotch! I'm running it on my new Alienware M11x, all graphics settings cranked to max at 1366x768. I'm seeing on average 32 FPS, max at 68 FPS. (Fraps Benchmarking)

I'm sorry, but the original series just doesn't live up to today's standards. Its all about high definition graphics, motion controls, and 3D. *LOL*

Heh heh, I kinda figured my previous post would ruffle the feathers of some of you older gamers. ;-)

No hard feelings, just my opinion was all. :-)
Obvious troll.
It is all about taste really. However i loved Fallout1. LOVED it. And i also loved Fallout3 and i can't wait to pick up Vegas. Who wants to play a top down RPG? You really came to the wrong place to ask that ;)

(all the way up to 768? :S:S what kind of a screen does it have?)

He obviously did not read Good Old Games before purchasing.

So wait a minute. Now that Fallout: New Vegas is out and doing well, and Fallout 3 is way past it's prime and is in "Game of the Year" edition. Will Fallout 3 show up here at Gog.com? What are the minimum requirement(s) for a PC game to be considered a "Good Old Game"? I really am curious, no sarcasm inteneded at all. Any responses will be much appreciated. Thanks. :-)

The Alienware M11x has a standard 720p LCD screen with 60Hz refresh (Max Resolution is 1366x768, however through HDMI video output it can display 1920x1080 natively). Nothing to impressive really. Mostly its just a glorified netbook, with a powerful Nvidia GT 335M GPU. *LOL*

However, I purchased a few games here at Gog.com and it's just sick on the framerate these older games run at. Like Unreal Tournament GOTY. I'm seeing on average 90~120 FPS (Fraps Benchmarking) with the graphics all set to max! :-D

Quite simply, GoG doesn't yet have a deal with Bethseda. I would be after their old games myself, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate newer titles as well: It doesn't seem to be too realistic at the moment thou.
