Hey
Was just wondering which version of Fallout 2 does GOG sell? The euro version with less gore and no children, or the uncut American version?
I hope its the Euro one, considering that GOG is a Polish company. Makes more sense.
If its any help, I've entered the first town and spotted two children straight away. Don't know if this answers your question as I've never played the Fallout series before.
The high resolution patch identifies the game as Fallout2 US 1.02d which seams to me that it is the American version, and I have been seeing the kids running about.
Alright sorted, thanks a lot guys!
I'm a few hours into the game, but I don't think I've seen any children. Weird.
I haven't seen any children yet.
I think I remember there being a bunch of kids in Shady Sands when I played it a long time ago...

i saw some, and said 'ur not allowed to be in this game.' so I killed them.
In the first one i did not spot any children except for the charred body of one on one of the lower levels of the glow, but they are all over the place in Fallout 2.
I have not spotted any children in Fallout 1 from GoG. I have the 1.3.4 or something from TeamX.

I'm gonna go ahead and confirm that this is the US 1.02d version, and yes, there are kids running around.

Fallout 1 does not have any children in the GoG install.
You have to manually add them using the children patch.
Although I am not entirely sure whether this comes before of after the 1.3.4 patch installation or if they are compatible whatsoever.
Maybe someone here can shed a bit of light on this matter.
The Fallout 1 version from GOG is UK one, without kids.
So, to have the best version possible, with kids, follow these instructions (I posted them to FAQ as well):
1) Install Fallout 1 from GOG.com
2) Find and install "Fallout_1_TeamX_Patch_ENG_1.2w" (either via nma or just google)
3) Install "f1child_patch" (again, nma)
4) Install "fallup13" - this is the TeamX patch 1.3.4 (nma)
5) Install "f1npcmod" from TeamX (again, nma)
6) Install "sfall1" (from http://timeslip.chorrol.com/sfall.html)
7) Install "Fallout1_High_Resolution_Patch_v1.3" (nma)
8) Open f1_res and set AUTO_SCRN_SIZE = 0, then your desired resolution (I use 800*600, anything above is just too darn small for my taste), then if you want, change the way ingame movies work, either fullscreen or not....up to you.Same with movie subtitles.
Run the game and enjoy it in all of its patched glory, WITH KILLABLE KIDS (not that I ever kill them, but the option is here), with better NPC interaction (armors, levelling..), with tweaks like mousewheel in the inventory etc, in higher resolution...
Now, GOG's Fallout 2 is US version, so it has kids even without any patches.
Is it clear now?

Thanks for the instructions. Odd that they went with the UK censored version for 1 but the uncut US original for 2. Seems that if they have the license to sell them they'd go with the uncut for both.
Odd that there was a censored version in the firs place what with the opining movie haveing a guy get his brains blown out while on his knees, and then a friendly wave to the camera. Odd indeed.
