Anyone have a workaround for FE "full screen" really being some sort of full screen window, which leaves the task bar on the screen? It makes simple "mouse to the edge" map scrolling fail when you go towards whatever side the task bar is on so is a minor pain in the butt.

As an aside, a quick search string "fallen enchantress task bar" reveals that this has been pointed out dozens of times on the Stardock forums, where of course Stardock has responded, on those rare occasions where they bothered at all, with some variation of their traditional "it must be your system's fault," which irks me no end. I paid those ______ full release day price for GalCivII:TotA back in the day and never could get it to work behind their bug riddled DRM system, and that was their constant refrain then too. If they weren't on GoG DRM free I would never recommend anything they make...and given their idea of "customer service" I might never buy any more of their stuff even in GoG versions.
Edit 2: Its possible that I misunderstand the problem - phrase "which leaves the task bar on the screen" is ambiguous.

Have a vague recollection of some counter measure for this problem but dont remember what it was. So it may be worth to search more for solutions if you want to find one.

(Windows 7 bottom task bar - I dont have that problem.)

If all else fails its probably possible to make a program which removes the "top level" status from the task bar. Or maybe some Windows system manipulation programs can do this out of the box.

Edit: Or make a program which puts Fallen Enchantress window as "always top". At least on my system windows which are "always top" trump the task bar if they are activated. Some Windows system manipulation tools can probably do this.

Thanks...all good ideas.

What already solved the problem though was using CCleaner and disabling SEVEN mysterious scheduled tasks associated with Stardock and FE. Dunno what they were or how often they were scheduled to run, but disabling them also cleared up another (more problematic) issue I was having that I noticed my machine had suddenly developed.

Note to self: GoG versions are DRM free, but Stardock is sneaky so clean up after installing their stuff.

You only ever had GOG FE on your machine? I looked at my task scheduler and found no indication of this.

Yeah, never had it before now.
