Hi, the gog windows version has been on 1.1.19 for a few days now and GNU/Linux and mac are still at 1.0. Will it be updated here soon?
I'm not sure if it is the same with the MAC and Linux version but I did not want to wait so I hooked up my Factorio with the auto update feature available through the developer. All you basically have to do it register your copy on their website and then hook it up inside the game then the game will auto update without waiting the extra week to month for GOG to catch up.

I am also waiting for the update. I'm not sure why it has been up for Windows for a few days already, but not for any other platforms. I hope they plan to support updates for all platforms.

Thanks for the tip, but I think a big reason why many of us buy games on gog is to avoid having to tie our games into servers to run properly.

Hello,
The game does not phone home unless you tell it to do so. It is an option, not a requirement, even after you create an account. You tell the game hey, check for a new version, and it does so. You can also tell it to check every time you load. Factorio developers really know what they are doing.
Doesn't seem that the dev's have any intention to update the Linux/MAC version (yet?).
I texted them in the official Forum and they answered that i could download the game
directly at factorio.com.

This is quite annyoing in my opinion. If that would be done by all developers ppl here would require to "collect" the games through hunderds of 3rd party websites.

Having to create an a separate account on their website just to get a patch is ridiculous, as is the notion that to use mods you need an account as well. It is dangerously close to having server mediated DRM. If nothing else, as roidal noted, we would need hundreds of accounts all over the place if all devs did this.

I sent a note to gog support a few days ago asking about MacOS and linux updates. When I receive a response, I’ll post it here.
Got any news about 1.1?

No. The only thing I have received is a few automated emails from gog saying how sorry they are that support is way behind in getting back to people.

I have only contacted support one other time in more than 10 years of regularly buying games here and I believe they were prompt in getting back to me on that occasion. Hopefully this is an unusual occurrence due to covid and cyberpunk issues.

Looks like they are not able to catch up with tickets recently:

It looks as though all versions are now up to date. I have closed my ticket.
