To start with I have to say I'm dissappointed with this release, I have bought it because I couldn't make the cdrom version I have run properly only to encounter the gog version has the same issues.
My problem is that the game run at less than 10fps, which makes it pretty much unplayable.

I've tried everything I can think of from compatibilitymodes to setting go_start.exe to use a single core, limiting the framerate to 60fps, enabling v-sync with tripple buffering but going into the street where some vehicle crashes and temporary block your way during the first level the framerate drops to 10fps.

My system:
Windows 7 x64
AMD Phenom X4 9550 2.2GHz
4GB RAM
AMD Radeon 6770 HD 1GB VRAM

Unplug controller if you have one connected to your PC right now. I had the same issue (very low fps) but the moment I unplugged my joystick everything started to work perfectly.

Thanks a lot, you solved it!

This does kind of suck though, because I was planning to play this game with a gamepad. :^|

Here is the topic that covers this. I didn't checked if it works as I play with k+m, but maybe it will help.
