Intro
The intro video is disabled. Go here. Follow the instructions. Use StartupState=0 instead.

Damn,

It seems that the game is not patched and after you try to add the 1.01 patch, the game will not start anymore. Can't find the cd.

Edit:

Got it working with no-cd patch. Now the "load and save" text is fixed and shown correctly. Though I think gog should update the version that they are selling. It seems that they only have the 1.01 .txt file and the game actually is 1.0.

Edit: Never midn, it looks like you are correct - the game hasn't been properly patched to 1.01: http://www.gog.com/forum/evil_genius/evil_genius_version_questions

I have contacted GOG support about this issue. Maybe we can even get an update after all this time. :)

Hi, does this replace the Unofficial Patch?
Also:
- why do you set a default resolution+windowed?
- does this turn off intro logos or even game movies?

Its my custom patch, I didn't like certain features from the Unofficial Patch, my patch uses a different format, you can' t use both togheter, but you can manually merge them if you really want to. I also fixed some other issues the Unofficial Patch never fixed. The Unofficial Patch mostly has some gameplay features which feel out of place, or hacked in.

TL;DR: No, you can't use both togheter.

The PCGW Patch contains the tweaks from the Evil Genius PCGamingWiki page, I already have setup everything, the user has to manually set the game's resolution and Windowed mode.

The game crashes if you Alt Tab in Fullscreen, so it's a small workaround.

Evil Genius has no native Widescreen support, there's some very hacked in Widescreen, the UI scales very poorly, but it's better than nothing at all.

Just follow the instructions under the Setting Up section over here.

I updated the main post on how to re-enable the main intro video.
