We're very excited to announce that the Kickstarter campaign for Everspace 2 just launched! The sequel to Everspace won't be a roguelike, but an open-world space shooter with deep exploration, tons of loot and classic RPG elements.

Your invaluable feedback helped make Everspace the success it was, which is why we'd like to get you on board as soon as possible. Yes, for the full release you will be able to choose between GOG, Steam and EGS. Alpha and Beta access will be distributed via Steam only

Thanks for being so open and transparent about your development. While I'd love to play it early on GOG I can understand keeping to a single platform makes things easier for a smaller dev doing early access.

And I have to say, playing Everspace 1 made me really wish for an open-world (open-universe?) style game and I'm 1000% pumped you're doing it. I might just buy it on Steam Early Access and get another copy on GOG during a later sale too (since GOG is my personal preference).

Backed it around the $70 tier, myself, a day or so ago, and now it's at 48 hours left with around $64,000 left needed to end as a fully-pledged project.

Got the game here on GOG, planning on getting the sequel here, as well, but might not stop me from also getting it on Steam separately.

1 year later update - Early access will be coming to GOG as well as steam on the 18th of January via the GID program :D
