Hey, do you ever still frequent this forum? I had a few really silly questions about the patch, which I'm loving, and this is easier than going through your website.

The Title Needs to be changed thought the fix was for 8/8.1 only since I use Win 10!

Is there any potential undesirable issues with the patch?

If not maybe we should ask GOG to apply it so everyone gets the benefit out of the box?

Or at least provide an option to install a pre-patched version

Hi. So far there are no problems. Some months ago I asked Gog if they could put an information that the working Multiplayer is available in UP1.5 (currently they have only an information that game servers were shut down), but they said they doubt they can do it for "legal" reasons or something.

I'd settle for them adding in modern resolutions and the bug fixing side of things. I can sort of understand them not wanting to patch in a fan controlled MP.

Maybe if things were split one patch to do the MP and one for everything else they don't have an issue with.

It might mean end users who want the full MP experience have to install a small update but I'd imagine it would make a lot of owners of the game pretty happy.

But since UP1.5 is available for free, and can be easily installed from ee2.eu, there is no problem at all. Splitting the update would not be a good idea for the community. Also, UP1.5 was mostly prepared for the Multiplayer community, so I don't feel like making the "SP only" mode (especially because it's already very separated).

the patch contains malicious files. don't unload it. contains spam and if you turn off the option to send information it becomes unstable

Do you have any proof about files being malicious? Or you just came to leak your frustrations that something doesn't work correctly on your configuration?

None of serious AV programs detect it as dangerous, which is rare for new programs.

Of course you didn't bother to learn why some of NEW features, that have never existed in EE2 won't work when the statistics system is disabled. It's all explained here:

By the way, it seems that you've just been using our Multiplayer services today afternoon, using nickname "gatof"? How come you're not afraid to continue using a software that you call "malicious"? Isn't it a one, big hypocrisy?

I've just found that to fix the game minimizing on Windows 8, you can add "g_fullscreenWindowCheck = 0" to the myconfig.cfg file inside the game folder (or myconfig_EE2X.cfg).
This should prevent the game always minimizing while trying to maximize it and this way you don't have to kill explorer.exe anymore.

Maybe DrMonaLisa you want to put this as an alternative to killing explorer.exe, so players can still alt-tab and keep their taskbar while the game is running.

This config fix should works without the 1.5 patch too (at least this is the case for me, using Windows 8.1).
