I just installed Eador and the game seems to run smooth but the sound stutters something awful. I turned the music off and it's playable but the sound effects stutter as well. Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

If you're on W7 64 bit, creating a new power plan, has helped some people.
It fixed my problem (sound stuttering; no mouse lag) completely.

Edit: On a fast CPU at least. Intel 3570 here.

I tried getting this solution to work, but when i get to the point where i need to lower my processor speed it doesn't have that option for me.
You can try Preveders launcher which uses a tool called BES to slow down the CPU. Just make sure t give it admin access, or it wont work.

Setting the graphics to 16bit in the cfg also helps alot.

I did a mix, using a 2500k CPU, I set the power management to 40%, use Preveders cfg and set the graphics in that one to 16bit, now the battles are incredibly fast.

Look at this video:

Step by step explication.
It's less complicated than it sounds.
This has worked for me also. Before, the "stutter" would happen every thirty seconds and drive me crazy. It was still playable, but I just couldn't handle the momentary hiccup. Stumbled upon that youtube video, posted above, and my problems are vanquished.

+2 karma for the man who linked above. +3 karma for the man who made the video.

This worked for me, thanks. I'd still like to have a patch though!

I can confirm that this works. The only downside is it might crash. I had 2 crashes since I made change.

Never happened to me, and I play this thing A LOT:-)
The only time I had crashes, was -occasionally- when I used preveder's solution.
The new power plan even lets me tab in/out, and do other stuff during the game.
I don't think the crashes are related to the power plan, but who knows?
It seems it's a little bit a matter of luck, and yes, the devs should fix it if they want to promote their upcoming game.

I should clarify my last comment. Occaionally when I start the program sometimes it crashes. It's fine in-game, sorry about confusion I might have caused anyone.

Edit: I love this game, but it's (to put bluntly) really difficult. I usually do well in strategy games, but this games hands me my ass on a regular basis. I'm excited about the sequel as well ;)

Oh, for the kiddy mode, mentioned in the other thread- that's what I do now- I cheat, making a backup save file on the astral plane. The game cheats too: it's like playing chess and after your 34th move it tells you: oh,by the way your Bishop is limited to 3 squares during this game, a bit weak for my Rook, isn't it?
The game needs a manual and/or a save function.
Edit: If only you could check, what you have already unlocked!
