Hi folks,
I can't find Dying Light in the store anymore. What happened? Have it been removed, or isn't it available any more just for german users??

thx for reply in advance!

There, answered the question yourself. It's not available in Germany.
It is not possible to buy it from a German IP!
If you own it already, you can download it.

Use a proxy, VPN, TOR, ask a friend to buy and send you the code,...
...and send a mail to GOG to implement an age verification, so that they can sell those games even to German customers.
its not available in japan aswell..
pretty annoying

I was wondering about the dlc packs that were available seemingly without a main game. So I did a quick check. The game is on the BPjM index and therefore mustn't be sold "openly" (in Germany that is).

Fenixp posted some hints to get it anyway. I'll give some of them a try...

Yeah. That kinda only applies if you've got a store or sales room in Germany, physically. GoG doesn't have that, and GoG HQ isn't in Germany, either. As far as I know, everything's being run from Poland. Where all of these rules do not apply.

Following the rules of Germany as if they had to, and not following a shitton of other rules from Germany - or any other country for that matter - just doesn't make any sense. They could happily offer the game, and not give a shit, pretty much - but they don't, for some reason.

If they're afraid to offer it because there is German language GUI available on the store...

1) get rid of the translation and be international. No? Fine, just follow the rules as they actually say and...

2) don't show the game off anywhere, but let users still search for it in the search box.
Equivalent to asking the store clerk if you can buy it. No? Because you...

3) can't check if people are 18+? Well, didn't bother you much with any of the other 18+ games, did it.

All in all, it feels kinda hypocritical, and that's what drives most uf us German users / customers insane about it. If you're living here, it's really, really not a big deal to get your hands on such a game, at all. Stores are just not allowed to but up huge banners for it and leave it on the shelves, that's all. And we would love if GoG actually did it like that, at least.

If you actually can't find the game, it's because some stores don't expect many people to come and ask for it because for many, it's just too much of an inconvenience to go on such a hunt and they just end up pirating it or whatever else. But not because they wouldn't be allowed to sell it...

I was just taking a guess what might have happened here, not excusing anything since that's not my job anyway. I totally agree with everything you said. I'm not really interested in the game, was just looking it up out of curiosity but there's no reason why this specific game should be treated differently from other such games.

@Dillerkind
There is a reason! The high violence level.

Yeah, and who defines that! Am I just imagining things or wasn't Fallout 3 on the index for some time, as well? Maybe I remember things wrong, but I think it was on the index until they patched out dismemberment for germany...? It's ridiculous, really. As if 18+, meaning ADULTS ONLY, wasn't enough for rating a game. I understand cases like, was it Wolfenstein? If there's Nazi Symbolism all over it, I get why people can get a bit touchy over here seeing that on the shelves next to Pokémon or being advertised. But with the slightest hint of dismemberment already, really? That whole matter is another can of worms entirely, though.

And GoG still claims this is about german laws, while it's clearly about the developers not wanting them nor Steam to sell it to germany. Just tell us that truth, and stop making hypocritical excuses...
