Im pretty new to this game so that why I ask those questions.

My mage who is level 1 uses white magic can use only two magic missile shots, and I wonder why he can not use more, can it be related to his stat of wisdom? Its stats are Wisdom: 15 and Int: 17.

His weapon: Quarter Staff and I do not know if it's a good weapon for him, are there is any better for a mage?
His race: Half-elf.

How i can know his level of mana/spell points left ? in combat are there any items that can restore his magic points?

Something I never understood in the game: what's the loot for? I mean whatever armor and weapons are given that the merchant in town takes them back to me at the price of 0 pieces so what interest ?

Thanks in advance.

Have you read the manual?

There's no mana, you have to memorize the spells.
Amount of spells you can cast is based on character level. High Wisdom gives bonus spells to cleric.

There's really no good weapons for single class mages. Keep them out of melee.

Some loot may be magical. Don't bother with the mundane one. You will soon enough be swimming in money anyway.
Spellcasters don't use mana or some other form of magical energy. They use spell slots you can "load" with the spells you want to use. The number and level of spell slots depends on the mage's or cleric's level. Also, mages gain bonus spell slots depending on the moon. In all honesty, the manual answers all your question about how magic works, so check it out. It's not much to read.

As for weapons, mages have a very, VERY limited selection; quarterstaff for melee, darts for ranged combat. You should definitely keep single-class mages out of melee combat. Also, mages will usually be a bit of dead weight at first, but that changes once they rise in levels.

Also, Magic Missile is a bit weak at first because the damage it does depends on the mage's level. A simple Sleep spell is often a lot more useful at early levels.
