Just getting started with these over the last couple of weeks. After I finished Champions, I had trouble getting the saved file to transfer for DKK. Eventually, I figured it out thanks to THIS site. However, now I can't figure out how to do it for DKK. Let me elaborate:

The answer for the first problem was to take the SAVE folder from champions, rename it SAVE_CH, and stick it where DKK could see it. BUT when I try to do the same for DQueen, I run into a problem: I can't figure out what to name the save folder I'm bringing over from DK. I tried SAVE_DKK, SAVE_DEATH, and SAVE_KNIGHTS, but none of those seem to work.

I did try looking here, and caught a tantalizing clue from somebody who said in another thread "never mind, i found what the save game looks like"... but didn't actually NAME it.

Please help! If it matters, I'm using MacOSX (though in the boxer emulator, I doubt that matters).

Thanks so much in advance.
One thing that will help narrow down the search: DOS filenames consist at most 8 characters, optionally followed by a dot and a 3 character extension. Therefore, the name of the folder will not be any more than 8 characters long.

Did you try SAVE_DK or SAVE_DA?

In addition to the attempts I mentioned in my original post, I also tried SAVE_DK, SAVE_DA, and SAVE_DE... and even SAVE_DEA. None worked, either in a folder in the same directory as the Queen save folder, or in a folder INSIDE the queen save folder.

Please, can somebody who has actually transferred a saved game from DKK to DQK open up the package contents of that boxer state and tell me what the save folders look like? It should be obvious what the save file/folder from death knights is called by the new game. Just type it here in a reply please.

The folder name is SAVE_KN, just rename the DKK folder and place it the DQK boxer state folder.
I know this is an older thread but I had the same problems and was looking for solutions, this is a little different than moving from COK to DKK.

The save files that you are looking for are under cloudsaves folder assuming you have been saving to cloud with GOG, so go to DKK 'cloudsaves' folder and you'll see DAT files there with your game saves and characters. Copy THAT file over to the SAVE_KN file in DQQ to get the proper loads from your DKK adventure. Hope that helps to those looking!

thank you. your a god
I'd really appreciate any help or advice from the community on this.

When I follow the directions on this thread, I get a "no characters to load" message on the DQK menu when I try to add from DKK.

I copied my files from the DKK cloud save into a folder called SAVE_KN, and I can see that gog has then synched those files into the DQK cloud save folder (and added shortcuts) BUT DQK still tells me "no characters to load".

So frustrating. Am I missing something obvious? Playing on a windows laptop.

EDIT: I figured it out. At the DQK menu, select load game and then DKK.
