Same problme here, please fix it. It's note solved^^
Guys, did you ever try to update the game to version 1.8? On KeeperKlan you will find the relevant files, which is the "1.7 to 1.8 patch" and the "DKII (Supreme Keeper & GOG enabled)" EXE file collection. I am curiouos to know if that fixes any of your issues.

This is an old thread, and the problem has been solved already.

http://timeslip.users.sourceforge.net/temp/DK2-patch-v4.7z

Extract the new patch.dll and copy it over the existing one in your GOG Dungeon Keeper 2 folder.

Here is my config file in case it helps http://www.mediafire.com/download/l2v9uehi9wi4jrr/GOG.7z
The config file is located in c:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\GOG\DungeonKeeper2\ My one has antialiasing and anisotropy enabled.

Make sure you load the game using only DKII-DX.exe otherwise the patch will not work.

hi every one

I did not have any trouble at all with dungen keeper 2 but I cant get dungen keeper gold to load to my com.. I read all the fix and I even did 3 of them and still no good please help me fuger out why I have windows 8

tks ally
Try running it on Compatibility Mode (WIn7, XP or 98).

When old games give me trouble on Win8, I start do downgrade the compatibility mode, and it's usually fixed at some time.
Running DK2 in windows 8, i can get the menu screen to come up just fine but once i click on any of the selections and the view begins to move it crashes giving the DKII-DX.EXE has stopped working error. HELP!!!!

I put it in compatibility mode and still crash's after the main menu when it zooms into the map
Same here. Windows 8.1, running DKII-DX.EXE, crashes when zooming in to the map (sometimes when moving the camera when setting "Options".

Running safe mode doesn't do anything (momentarily black screen and that's it).

Tried the patch someone posted above - still didn't work, still crashes. Tries changing the compatibility settings - doesn't work, still crashes :(.

Please re-open, Thanks.
Same issue here on Win 8.1. Not working at all, crashing from menu.

Are you playing on a laptop or something with both integrated and dedicated graphics?

Try setting DKII-DX.exe to use your graphics card. I did it and it solved the problem for me :)
Hi!

I've got the same problem: The game starts, the into comes... but when I try to select New Campaign or Continue Campaign (ONCE it started, so I could play a level!), it crashes and a nice little box says "DKII-DK.exe doesn't function anymore" (I'm from Germany, so in reality it says "DKII-DK.exe funktioniert nicht mehr").

I'm using an Sony VAIO laptop with Windows 8 (NOT 8.1). Other GOG games do run on this computer without problems, like Pharaoh & Cleopatra and Dungeon Keeper Gold. I checked the drivers and all are up-to-date. I tried to start the game in campatibility mode and as admin, nothing worked.

Please find a solution for this problem!

Greetings,
Batty
done it

run it on 640x480 mode

no more DKII.DX.EXE error
Just bought the game and Populous The Beginning and for some reason they both give me an "Application Error (0xc0000022)", even though tried them all in all possible compatible and administrator mode. Anyway that error as to do with restrictions on DLL. so i added Read Only on every single one of them, also gave the games file full permission for my user name, but still is the same.

Wonder what it can come from, i saw that tools exist to pinpoint access to DLL's, wonder if anyone ever got any problems like this before.

Forgot to say,i have Windows 8.1 Pro (64-Bit) Update 1
