where are the units from the updates? did a quick attempt to atract the elite mistress(because she's easy) without any luck.. are they in this GoG version?

I was wondering the same thing, and don't see a reply. Does anyone know the answer to this?

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, they're only available in skirmish maps, not in the main campaign. Although if you can downgrade to the patch that first introduced them, I believe you could recruit them anywhere. Just be careful because if you save and reload the elite creatures will revert to their regular counterparts. In the previous patch that is, you keep them upon reloading in the current patch.

I was wondering the same thing. I've been playing this game at many times over the years but after I got a new computer I had to use the GOG version instead of the Bullfrog release. I saw a few other people asking this question so I went through every scenario to get an answer and decided to share.
I have had no luck with getting elites in the campaign. They do however function normally in both the My Pet Dungeon and skirmish modes.
I' have cleared out all of the rooms besides the ones required for each elite in the campaign and made sure that the elite room did not come in contact with any other rooms, which I remember could be an issue in the Bullfrog release.
In short, everything works as it did in the most recent BF version.....Skirmish and My Pet Dungeon modes have all elite capabilities in the GOG. Elites are not available in campaign. Nor are maidens.
