Hi, there is a way to play Duke Nukem 3D online. A list of so-called source ports can be found by visiting http://ny.duke4.net & clicking on downloads and YANG has its own master server. This games network is called YANG (Yet Another Netplay Guider) and supports Windows, Linux, Mac systems and maps can be transferred by the file transfer mechanism.
For more information you can visit the site here http://ny.duke4.net
It currently has 2 different themes a dark theme and a bright theme that can change the way the interface looks.
In the near future we do plan to implement a chat lobby system however you can chat in game rooms for now and other things.
Regards

My cousin and I tried YANG this afternoon but had port issues. Eventually I found how to start a multi-player using eduke via command line. GoG made it easy with the network links, but my netbook only plays well using eduke.

Some good news lately about the eDuke32 source port I heard was that they are coding a true client/server multiplayer. This would mean that clients won't have to open a free port to play. And the possibility to run dedicated servers I think for less laggy games.

new home of YANG http://www.multi-players-zone.com/yang/
YANG v0.90 has been released today :

The most interesting change done for the Duke Nukem 3D players, is the whole TC/MOD concept rewritten : now, you can create TC/MOD profiles in the new menu "Settings -> TCs and MODs" dialog.

Also, both the Single-Player and Multiplayer dialogs have been rewritten : now, there will be a tab for each of the main games supported by YANG (a tab will only appear if you have selected at least one source port for this main game), allowing to only display the relevant options for each of the main games, and also, now each of the settings/options will be saved separately between each of the main games.

Another major change is the added support for any DOS game (by using DOSBox) : you can create custom DOS game profiles, in the new "Custom DOS games" tab, located in the menu "Settings -> Source ports" dialog.

This is just a summary of the main changes done for this new YANG version : for much more informations, be sure to also read the full changelog on the main YANG web site @ http://yang-online.com
