Just announced, should be coming today:

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/03/20/duke-is-out-duke-nukem-3d-megaton-edition/

For $9.99 you get upgraded graphics (with the option to use the classic graphics), the base game, expansion, three of the authorized add-on packs, Steamworks multiplayer and achievements.

Doubtful GOG will be getting the authorized add-ons, since the publisher is different and this is likely Steam exclusive. Just wanted to let fans of the game know, as I've been waiting since the game's release on GOG for the add-on packs (but looks like I'll need to go with Steam.)

Yeah, bummer. :/
Steam works will be very good for the MP side of things. Shame the add-ons can't be added to the GOG version though.
Any chance for updating the GOG version to include this or at least the expansion packs? :\
F*** YEAH! I've been searching for the expansions for months!
I thought the expansion would eventually show up on GOG but it doesn't seem likely from how things look currently. I don't mind double dipping but I may wait for a sale since it's not too much of a priority right now :)
I guess I will just wait for a sale and hope gog gets it before that time comes.
Ok, gog user Barry_Woodward contacted devolver and confirmed it will be a steamworks exclusive. I loathe every dollar I have to give to steam, but we don't really have a choice in the matter.
Just pirate the Steam game. Fuck that I have to double dip to get a superior version of the same game I already own on here.
So I'm guessing because of the higher price and extra content, I won't be able to get a Steam key for owning the gog or XBL editions, right?

I just got back from Duke4.net Forums and I have to say: Don't get this version of Duke3D.

I'll explain: The Expansions are fine and all but the game itself is kindof broken.
Here's why....

"• You can't run usermaps through the menu directly with it while you could in the original jonof. Only when adding -map mapname.map in launch options by right clicking on the game in your library. Why removing that?

• Can't change music and SE volumes independantly. There is only one bar; You could do that in the original game in DOS. Why removing that?

• Musics stop for half a second at the end when looping instead of looping smoothly
• can't play the "+" version without opengl even though opengl fucks up shading
• mouse sensitivity setttings not precise enough : it's either too slow or too fast
• can't quicksave/quickload, have to go through the menu
• can't change HUD size on the fly, have to go through the menu"

Basically: Stick to the GoG version for now until they fix these issues (Lets hope they fix that before the multiplayer comes in).

The publisher is Devolver Digital, the same guys who published the Serious Sam games, so it's a possibility, I suppose.

animegramma: The publisher is Devolver Digital, the same guys who published the Serious Sam games, so it's a possibility, I suppose.
Indeed, given that GoG's release of Shadow Warrior is also published by Devolver (it was GT intereactive and Eidos back in the days), maybe they bought the Duke 3D license after 3D realms collapse or something.
So unless it's a steam exclusive, these add-ons may come to GoG one day. I surely hope so, because I'm not buying the steam version.
I already have and love the gog version of Duke 3D, but the new steam version also attracts me.
But even i have some games twice due package sales where games i already had came free, i do not like the idea of buying something twice...

Dear gamegods enlighten me what to do... ;)

Is it not just the same game run in dosbox? Or is it some strange winport?
